Yeah, not every character needs to start with an undefeated streak to get over.

I remember early on I thought it would have been a good idea to have Sandow lose to Ezekiel Jackson after Sandow cut a promo pissing him off and 'zeke attacked him while he was putting his robe away. Have a little brains vs. brawn feud for a few weeks before Sandow eventually goes over by somehow just outsmarting 'zeke.

Sandow is awesome. His character isn't going anywhere right now though. The Brodus Clay feud was pretty paint-by-numbers and I don't think it did anything for either guy's character in the long run. There's no concept of a long-term build. Guys don't get over from one or two major storylines. They get over by constant exposure and consistent character booking over a long period of time.
