Ok, same point as before, but this time you’re saying the Patriots one of the best defense in the league, doesn’t have the secondary to blitz? So that if they blitz, they don’t have players or coverage schemes that can hang with the colts WR/TE for 3 seconds? Even though every time the Pats beat the Colts it’s doing exactly that, Blitzing and bumping at the line which throw off all the timing patterns.

What's funny is the Superbowl is in Miami and every year not matter how good the Pats are or how bad Miami is or isn't, the Pats always have a tough time playing in Miami and some of Brady's career worst games are there. If they make the superbowl and loose I can already hear "It's the Miami jinx".

You've been saying "Colts are great because we make it to the playoffs every year" for awhile now.. You also agree that "making it to the playoffs" really doesn't mean shit unless you make it to the Super Bowl.. But then you go on to say that it doesn't matter that the Pats have beaten y'all in said playoffs for years, because y'all beat them in the regular season, which doesn't matter because it's not the playoffs..

So, are you, as a Colts fan happy in just beating the Pats in the reguilar season and not doing shit in the playoffs??

No, this really is you being you, someone asks you to explain why you think the Colts will win and you don't.

I didn't take anything out of context, the only things you said were Manning will have a carreer day and the Pats can't cover the Colts WR/TE's.

That's the only reasons you gave to say they would win, look though the last few pages, thats it. Maybe you thought you explained why and you didn't?

You did what?

Let's see.

Addai - 18 for 39, 2.16yds per carry, with a longest of 7. Take away the longest run he's 17 for 32, 1.88yds per carry

Rhodes - 14 for 56, 4yds per carry, with a longest of 25. Take away the longest run he's 13 for 31, 2.38yds per carry

Combined your two RB's didn't break 100yds, and if you take away that 1 big run by Rhodes (25yds) they combined for 70 yds on 31 carries which is 2.25yds per carry.

That's hardly running it down anyones throat.

13 plays 12 runs 7 minutes, ball game. Just because we didnt do it all game, doesnt mean we cant do it when it counts. Its not like Indy's running game has been pathetic all season. They're very solid unit of runner. Lets not get started on Mr. I'm a Running Back and I Need Oxygen After 50 Yards, or Mr. Inconsistency himself Lawrence Mahoney.

You wanna know how the Colts will beat New England? They're gunna put 8 men in the box and stop your running game just like they did during the regular season. Then Nick Harper ( probably the most underated CB in the league ) and Jason David are gunna jam your WR's and not let them break off the line. Brady will complete a few passes, but for maybe 3, 4 yards. Colts will keep everything in front of them. And the Pats will be punting alot. Then Hoody Boy Billy will decide to go deep. His running games failing, the short game isnt doing enough to put points up with the Colts. So now Brady starts to drop back 5 yards, sometimes 7 yards. And thats when the breakaway will happen. It'll probably be a tie game or Colts by 7. Brady will drop back and BOOOM! Freeney or Mathis crushes him. You know why? Cause your offensive line aint got nothing for Freeney or Mathis. NOTHING. Dont give me this " Well we shut down Merriman " crap either. Merriman isnt on both sides of the line. Brady will have both Dwight and Robert in his face all day long. And mistakes will happen. And the great Joe Mont...Tom Brady will be holding his head between his hands come the 4th quarter when Indy is up by 24 points cause Brady turn the ball over.

Why dont you tell us how the Patriots will beat the Colts.

Never said the Colts can't run the ball, you’re the one who claimed they "ran it down the ravens throats" and the truth is, they didn't. The truth is your offense had a horrible game and your defense won you the game.

As for Maroney? What did you see some highlight where had an oxygen mask somewhere? When? Both teams have good running games but different styles. Both the Pats backs are Physical, Rhodes isn't, Addai I haven't watched enough to know if he's a run through or around type RB.

Brady will complete a few passes, but for maybe 3, 4 yards. Colts will keep everything in front of them. And the Pats will be punting alot. Then Hoody Boy Billy will decide to go deep. His running games failing, the short game isnt doing enough to put points up with the Colts. So now Brady starts to drop back 5 yards, sometimes 7 yards. And thats when the breakaway will happen. It'll probably be a tie game or Colts by 7. Brady will drop back and BOOOM! Freeney or Mathis crushes him. You know why? Cause your offensive line aint got nothing for Freeney or Mathis. NOTHING. Dont give me this " Well we shut down Merriman " crap either. Merriman isnt on both sides of the line. Brady will have both Dwight and Robert in his face all day long. And mistakes will happen. And the great Joe Mont...Tom Brady will be holding his head between his hands come the 4th quarter when Indy is up by 24 points cause Brady turn the ball over.

Why dont you tell us how the Patriots will beat the Colts.
Finally, a semi-logical explanation of how the Colts can win. It's too logical for you, I'm guessing you copied it from somewhere, and then threw in your comments about Belicheck (oh no, you insulted him for wearing a hooded sweatshirt) and then Joe Mont... Yes, a lot of people compare Brady to Montana, and they compare Manning to Marino... 2 of the 4 have rings and 2 of the 4 don't.

I'm not going to argue against your reasons for a Colt win, it's actually close to how I think the Colts could win, I don't think it's putting 8 in the box however, I think it's jamming the Pats undersized WR at the line, and using your LB to jam up the Pats TE's forcing the Pats to run all day, and the Colts defense has been playing good against the run in the playoffs.

Now, for the flip side, why I think the Pats will win. (This, unlike you I actually already did say).

They're going to Blitz Manning and jam the WR/TE and throw off the timing patterns, same things they have done every other time they've beat the Colts.
As for your Pass Rush, for once the entire OL is healthy, Light had the game of his career last week and the Patriots have the best blocking TE's in the league and both Dillon and Maroney are good at picking up the Blitz.


**A side note, I was reading about the crew officiating, and long story short they're old school "let them play" refs, which doesn't help the colts when the pats play physical defense.

Yah and when you blitz. Screen passes to our running backs all day. After the first couple times, you'll see that so called blitz being called fewer and far between. Manning is one of the best at picking up the Blitz and reading the coverage, granted, he's playing a 3-4 defense that always seems to give him fits, but he handled it against Baltimore and made plays when he had to. Your blitz is crap with your slow linebackers. Theirs not one guy on your linebacking core who the Colts should be really worried about if he should show blitz. Not one. Colvin is ok, but he's not some huge playmaker and Vrable, Izzo and Bruschi are slow. Have fun with that blitz. Patriots will get picked apart blitzing. Would make no sense to blitz all game long. If they do, they'll probably get burned. So what if you jam Marvin and Reggie. They're too of the best recievers in the league. You think they dont know how to beat the bump coverage? Comon. Plus, who you jamming Clark with? And then who's taking Addai out of the backfield and all this while you're " blitzing ". Ok.

I called them soft because they react poorly to aggressive corners and whenever they go over the middle they hit the ground as soon as possible (Reggie Wayne is from THE U though so that is expected)

They are still all pro widereciever, shit Deion Sanders is a hall of fame cornerback but he was soft as shit too, just because you play soft doesn't mean you aren't good

Running 12 out of 13 times in a drive is a good example of your wideouts not being soft though

I've heard this all before from you, if it's all true then the Colts should win.

However these are the same things you've said before, and so far it's never happened.

The pats have one of the best defensive fronts in the league, they stopped the run all year, not like the Colts who got run on all year and just started stopping the run the last 2 weeks. Seymore, Wilfork, Warren have been shutting down the run all season.

Wayne and Harrison can handle being jamed at the line? I'm sure then know how, they just never have in the playoffs.

We'll see what happens, as I've said... I give the Colts the best chance this time, that's my opinion based on the way their defense has played the last 2 weeks, but I heard from you 2yrs ago that it was the Colts time... our defense... etc... etc...

He's signed with the Cubs in '06, played in the minors during that Summer then still played for ND in the fall. So unless something new has come out and I haven't seen it, I dunno why he would give up on the NFL already

Well he probably felt he couldn't make it in baseball while playing football, he is starting out in A ball and is going to have to work his way up for a few years. Its not like he is in Sanders position where he could play both pretty well right off the bat (no pun intended)

I'm not sure he had the speed to make it as a NFL reciever. His body type and his athleticsism was perfect fit for the prototype pitcher. They say he's a Randy Johnson type pitcher in the making. I think he made the right move. I dont see him having as good of a career as say Drew Bennett, who's been rather average.

Yah, but WR is the most stacked position in the draft this year. He probably would have been a 2nd maybe even 3rd depending on his draft workouts. I think he made a good move.

Might not have been, but makes sense to me.

Also, he got a good deal for baseball.

5yrs, 10 million with a 2.5mil signing bonus (I'm not 100% if the 2.5 is part of the 10mil) and there are cubs options for year 6 and 7 which turns it into a 16.5mil deal.

Plus he got a no trade clause put in, which is very rare in mlb these days, especially someone that young.

There was also mention about him offering to give back the signing bonus over the 5yrs, I'm not sure if that was if he changes his mind, or if the major league team calls him up and has the cap room, the espn article doesn't specify.
