The only reason he wouldn't is if Abramovich leaves during the season, I am pretty sure otherwise, when Ronaldo leaves Madrid he will be Chelsea bound, like ECG said, he will get an even fatter pocket.

True Vassell does get into the England squad but by all accounts he shouldn't he rarely produces for Villa and Beattties supposed asking price of 8 million seems allright. Allthough I'm confused as to how we had a 6 million bid turned down yet sold them Crouch for 2 million earlier in the summer. Surely would have made more sense to have done a deal for 6 and Crouch

I agree with RBF here, he's not worth £8 million really and there are probably better strikers available for less.

Owen to Real Madrid seems certain to go through but for £8 million and a player, thought to be Nunez.

What are Liverpool on here? They were getting £10m and Morientes before and even if he's out of the deal then they should be getting more money aswell as Nunez, because Morientes is clearly the better move for Liverpool and probably a better player of the two.
