**Rate the Music: Week 10**

Oh, yeah, we're working on all cylinders here. It's always great when I can do this on both forums on the right day and without a hitch. It's best to pounce on the opportunity as soon as I can, so here we are. As opposed to where we were, and where we were last week was looking, er, listening to Killer Instinct's theme song, appropriately titled The Instinct.

Personal thoughts about it aside, the track has some stiff competition this early in the game, but maybe it will surprise us?

One-Winged Angel (Final Fantasy 7) - 8.71
Aquatic Ambience (Donkey Kong Country) - 8.66
At Doom's Gate (Doom) - 8.375
Guile Stage Theme (Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo) - 8.25
Bloody Tears (Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest) - 7.85
Green Hill Zone (Sonic the Hedgehog) - 7.72
Halo (Halo: Combat Evolved) - 7.125
Spark Mandrill Stage (Mega Man X) - 7
The Instinct (Killer Instinct) - 5.42

Well, it's surprising in the sense that we have a new bottom of the barrel on our list. With a middle-of-the-road score of 5.42, The Instinct doesn't have the musical chops to challenge the top of the charts. This was the most all over the place scoring I've seen so far. Maybe we'll have that again this time around. Or we'll get yet another bottom of the barrel? That's up to you as we take a listen to something a bit different this week. Sometimes memorable music can come from the least likely of places just as great gaming experiences don't need to come from some big-name developer. The independent scene can sometimes deliver us some gems and never was this more the case than in the early 2010s when almost every low budget title had some kind of techno/dance/rave motif for their soundtrack. With that said, who remembers The Impossible Game? Or more specifically, who remembers this pulse-pounding track, Heaven?

I leave its judgment in your capable hands...and ears. Thanks for 10 weeks of this business, and I hope it can continue. Until next week!

No matter what may happen to me, just remember Lzzy Hale gave me the bedroom eyes...

...again.

This is NOT the recognizable theme from that game. Did you have to progress to a certain point to get this song? If so <.000001% of players got there. This song sucks. This is the real one. It sucks too:

Kids still play this game. Its one of the few games that isnt blocked on their damb chrome books. I had Nam flashbacks due to it

To me, the stand out track is the lame, slow ass one that's designed to humiliate you for using practice mode.
