lol idgaf if people don’t like AEW. I like most of what they do but they certainly aren’t perfect and nobody here is staunchly defending everything they do.

Just like every other disenfranchised fan hoping that a multi million dollar company would cater to their pedestrian taste. You lot like to think that you're all so smart but in reality you're all just sheep. No wonder Meltzer makes a living selling snake oil and shaming female competitors.

I don’t pay a dime for any subscribed wrestling content. I only pay using AEW PPV because it’s worth $25 every few months to watch a show I’m likely to enjoy. If they ever want monthly PPV mode I wouldn’t purchase every show and what I like about the product would prob suffer because monthly PPVs either means rematches or rushing storylines.

In the post MITB Raw in 2011, the show drew nearly 5 million TV viewers. A decade later and Raw is hitting record low numbers and routinely finishing with less than 2 million viewers. Something doesn’t add up there, and it’s not because those missing 3-4 million people have pedestrian taste or are sheep. When tv shows get bad, or stale, or never reward their viewers with satisfying payoffs, people stop watching. WWE isn’t losing nearly three quarters of their audience because Dave Meltzer is selling rumors on the internet. It’s because their product just isn’t any good, their roster stale, and very little if anything they’re producing is entertaining, intriguing, or exciting.

Vince McMahon is insane. It keeps doing the same shit over and over again despite the results being the same; declining ratings, declining interest and apathetic crowds. He’s getting paid a shit ton of money to produce content and that’s great for him. His business acumen is undeniable. But his creativity clearly isn’t speaking to people anymore and the fact that they’re continually losing their audience speaks to that.

And I never had hopes they’d appease my tastes. I just hoped they’d produce simple and quality storytelling that they’ve shown they’re capable of, instead of churning out the same old shit week after week. And when they stopped entertaining me, I just turned it off, like 3 million other people, and found something else to watch instead of hoping one day WWE would be good again.

You really feel strongly about this considering that you stopped watching it a long time ago because the product sucked. It's like coming back to a toxic ex because the sex was insane am I right?

Since you're fixated on the declining viewership, let's talk about WWE's record profit numbers and how they've signed huge deals with USA / Peacock, Fox and countless outlets overseas. They're incredibly profitable and doing just fine with or without you. At the end of the day, it's a successful business and have pioneered their industry.

I already mentioned and credited Vince for his business acumen and ability to get corporations to pay him lots of money to produce weekly content. There’s no argument there.

That still has nothing to do with declining viewership or your silly claims that it’s the pedestrian tastes of marks and not a crappy product that’s driven away most of their viewership.

And I’ve not come back. The only reason I know what’s going on is because of this board. I skimmed thru all the PPV and skipped Raw completely because after watching a mediocre smackdown I couldn’t find the energy to sit thru a three hour wrestling show for a product that I don’t enjoy anymore.

You're not so bad after all. I too enjoy skimming through content and voicing my opinion because it saves me time and gives me an opportunity to blow off some steam. I'll admit that WWE's current product leaves a lot to be desired but it isn't all bad. Sunday was spectacular and all ppvs showcase amazing in ring competition just like AEW but without the gimmicks for the most part.
