Oh stfu already. This team, like every team every once in a while, was in need of a rebuild, and it got it. Shanahan would've never had done shit without Elway and Davis, and what a coincidence, never did shit after them. So it's not like everything was golden to begin with. Under Mike Denver had gotten stale and it was time for an overhaul.
Last year Denver overachieved big time, that 8-8 record was really better than the team. But what the hell do you expect when more than half of the roster is cut/traded/whatever? Oh, and btw, I can't remember the exact number, but something like 60% of the Shanahan guys McD got rid of, DIDN'T PLAY IN THE NFL IN 2009. Speaks volumes for the quality of the team everyone seems to miss, doesn't it? While I can't defend McDaniels for ignoring the defense this offseason, he definitely got the offense where it needs to be. The fact that Orton and the WRs are doing so well is insane when you consider most of the OL and RBs where out the majority of the first half of the season injured. The defense isn't that good, so that fact that it's been plagued with injuries just makes it worse. The vets who saved the D (kinda) last year are now the reasons it's lacking. Champ and Dawk just don't have it anymore. But we're only a little more than HALF WAY THROUGH THE SECOND YEAR. I can almost guarantee you this offseason will be spent overhauling the D. You can't just change coaches and be a Super Bowl contender, especially when you weren't one to begin with. No matter who Denver has as it's coach they aren't going to be the next football messiah, so quit thinking Denver is Super Bowl worthy every year (they haven't been in 5 years) and realize that just like every other damn team in the NFL there will be good years and bad years |
