Bobby Jaggers passes away
"Hangman" Bobby Jaggers passed away Sunday from renal failure and various health issues. He was 64 years old.
Throughout his 19-year career, Jaggers was a journeyman wrestler who competed in various territories including the Pacific Northwest (where he began his career in 1972), Memphis, Kansas City, Amarillo (after Dory Funk, Jr. saw him in Kansas City), San Francisco, Louisiana, Vancouver, Atlanta (where he teamed with Hulk Hogan), Knoxville, Florida, Mid-Atlantic, and Puerto Rico. He was also known as one-half of the Kansas Jayhawks with Dutch Mantel. Before getting into pro wrestling, he served in the U.S. Army for a year and a half in Vietnam. He was in the "A" Battery of the 1/30 Artillery 1st Calvary, and fought in battles in Hue, Khe Saah, A-Shau Valley, and the Tet offensive. Retired from the sport in 1991, Jaggers worked for the state of Kansas as an engineering tech. Recently, he was working at Kansas' Department of Homeland Security as a road and bridge specialist. |
