Cody and Elite should be going to WWE rather than being ambitious to start their own promotion.

Kind of got a feeling that All Elite is either going to be on TNT or Netflix.

Would you trademark the name for a show and tease all these announcements re: your promotion that everyone assumes will be getting a show, if you didn't have a deal locked? I criticized Cody for the "Field of Dreams" approach to promoting All In, but it seems even more cart-before-the-horsey to promote something "big" re: these trademarks if you don't have anything big. Surely they've learnt from TNA?
That's why my feeling is TNT. It's got a larger penetration than USA and has had wrestling in the past. The name "Dynamite" suits the station too. But that could be an innocuous coincidence. I don't think a deal with WGN America has that big a pop to it, and I don't think that's "bigger than expected." But with TV being archaic, you have to think that streaming is the future. But there are all these separate networks. Disney has one coming out. It's all a bit much. Piggy-backing off an existing one makes the most sense. Content is what keeps these things chugging along, and having weekly wrestling content (or even monthly) is something that hasn't really been trialed by an OTT service. Netflix has GLOW. They've done some crossover work with WWE, but maybe they are looking for actual wrestling content for their service now? Netflix does differ between countries, but it potentially allows All Elite to have an instant global audience. If I were them, I'd probably try and get a limited run series on Netflix or Disney -- maybe that is the "All Out" trademark -- and use that as an advertisement for my cable television program, and try to use that to segue international television deals to ride that last wave of TV momentum as it fizzles out, but ensuring you have a foot in the door for later streaming content. Say you can get 10 episodes on Netflix/Disney. You can tell a complete arc, crown your champions, whatever. You can even end on a cliffhanger. You can promote the show on TNT, but the streaming content can live on and serve as a constant introduction to the world of All Elite. You can do your Double or Nothing show and try to top All In, but you can also keep "All Out" as a limited run Netflix/Disney series and maybe add a "season 2" (for lack of a better term) the following year, if there's the demand for it, and use that to try and triangulate your audiences. So you basically run basic cable weekly, the world's largest streaming service for a limited time each year and iPPV. So their Tuesday Night Dynamite show is something like SmackDown, All Out is more like an NXT Takeover and their yearly PPV is like their attempt at "their version of WrestleMania." Realistically, I think they could get away with two. Keep the All In period and try and use that to get people in yearly and also try and jump on WrestleMania weekend. |

Actually, a shower thought I just had: Cody said this in Australia. Presumably to Australians. It doesn't really make sense to make a big deal out of an American cable deal that isn't going to get your show shown to the market you are teasing in front of.
Using that deduction -- unless Cody is talking out his ass -- an international streaming deal makes the most sense. Why would you promote something as "big" in Australia when you could just sidestep the question or suggest it's big for American audiences and hopefully Australia will be next? And it only really makes sense for that to be international. |

NXT Takeover Brooklyn has moved to Friday Night and the HOF has moved to Saturday Night.
NXT and the MSG show will no longer be in conflict w/ one another now. |

Very interesting move for them though. Think it shows a little concern they're going to be upstaged?
Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me if in the future they do spread WrestleMania out to two nights and keep Takeover on the Friday and do the Hall of Fame on the Thursday. That way they can potentially block out Friday-Monday with wrestling shows. |

That news makes me want to jump for joy. I was always going to the MSG show but sad I'd miss Takeover. No longer.

I have been thinking WM will get to the point it has to be two days long eventually. Sell double the tickets, make double the profits. |

Miami hosting the SuperBowl in 2020 knocks it out of contention for hosting WM36. Cities raise taxes to host big events like SB and WM to help pay for things and that, along with the reasoning that tourism departments would market the SB over WM until February, is why WM and the SB have never been held in the same city in the same calendar year.
Orlando, Tampa and Jacksonville looking more likely as the frontrunners to host WM36 in 2020. |

In fairness, I barely watch as it is, due to the quality or lack thereof... generally catch WM, Rumble, Summerslam, the occasional Raw or SD segment, hour, or half hour... but come on. Two days of WM? Who's going to watch that? It's already too much as it is with the ridiculous "pre-show", etc. |

I don’t know, 2 three hour shows could be more palatable than 1 seven hour show.

They don't need 2 days tho. Do they really have so much going on that they need to pack a huge 4 hr show? I think not.
Obvs the titles should be defended. So that's 8 matches right there. Maybe a couple grudge matches and you've got 10 matches. Do we really need more than that? |

8 matches is the perfect # to me for WM
But they like to do 13-16 when you throw the pre-shows in. |

I would say WMXXX and WM31 were the best WMs of the modern era and each had 7/8 matches. Starting w/ WM32 Vince decided he wanted WM to feature as much of the roster as possible. On on hand, that is great for the talent because more people get a WM payday.
On the other, it can be tough for fans watching at home and even more in person. I've attended two WMs (32 & 34) and standing outside for two hours to go in and sit for seven hours of wrestling, you get kind of 'wrestled out' on and off after about the third hour. |

Why can't they just give everyone on the roster who helps scaffold their product over the course of the year a payday come WrestleMania time and not jam them onto a card for the sake of it? Performing at Mania should be special. I don't need to see Zack Ryder on eight consecutive cards in Battle Royals just because.
