SHOCKING RETURN

On the latest edition of WWE SmackDown!, Undisputed Champion Rob Van Dam defeated Randy Orton. Following the defeat, Van Dam was assaulted by an unknown masked man. That man unmasked to reveal himself as none other than Christian Cage, who then gave a speech, stating that he has come back for the title.

Alright, so I turned Rob Conway face and had him shed the Con-Man stuff and become a no gimmick needed hardass. He came out and saved Eugene after losing a match to Kenny w/ help from Mikey.

Netx week I'm gonna have Eugene show up in the same gimmick, and have Conway claim that he has "reinvented" him to be the way he should be. The Lords of the Ring will then topple the Spirit Squad for the Tag Titles.

After that, I will more than likely send Mitch and Nicky to OVW. Kenny, Mikey and Johnny all are talented and/or over enough to stick around, but I might just send them all down at once and bring back the gimmick upon return. With the SS gone, I'd be left with Cade & Murdoch as my only heel tag team, so it's a reason to keep them around. Not sure yet.

Another idea is to just make the tag belts like the Undisputed Title and have them float between brands, because right now the division is a mess until people in OVW are ready.

My other big signing, Raven, made his debut at the last ECW on Sci-Fi. He's gonna be 42 in September and his only good stat is brawl, so I signed him to just a 6 month deal.

I also released Jack Bull after his tryout match was a dud. His overness was only 33 so I decided to move him down to Jobber (he never would have been more than that with me) to see if he'd stay. But he was unhappy and wanted to be released. So I granted him his wish and managed to save myself $24,000. Cool.

Also, Cena got his stupid self injured for the rest of February.

I might stop playing soon.

All of my main eventers are pissed because I'm not using them on every show, despite there being a brand split. Angle is down to 6 morale.

Unfair.

-EDIT-

OK, found a solution...sorta. Just demote them to Jobber and then back up to the main event. If they have creative control, make them a manager until their show is up again. Only person this hasn't worked on is The Undertaker, who is down to 35% morale and won't go down the card. Might give him the axe because he's an asshole with his creative control.

With no warning.

I'll start over with a different promotion.

Oh man Loopy, that sucks.

Its really retarded too. That would never happen in real life.

---

Anyways, I'm at my dad's now, but I downloaded the game and updates here too. Unfortunately, Hotmail screwed up and I couldn't properly receive my WWE game files. So I started a new game as TNA for when I'm over here.

Before I started, I released Johnny Parisi from WWE and re-named him Johnny Swinger. I also put Norman Smiley in TNA, because Norman rules.

GETTING STARTED:

First things first, I signed the four interested sponsors that would offer me the most money: Viacom Inc. (Major), THQ, Stacker 2, and Columbia Pictures. They will all net me around $700,000 a show, which will come in handy.

Next, I took a look at my roster. The only people under written deals were Sting and Christy Hemme. I decided to sign as many people as possible to written deals (well, the ones I was gonna actually use fairly regularly at least). This way, as I progress, WWE can't take them and it'll save money on the whole.

After signings, the following people are now under written contract:

Abyss
Andy Douglas
BG James
Bobby Roode
Chase Stevens
Chris Sabin
Christopher Daniels
Christy Hemme
Eric Young
Hernandez
Homicide
James Mitchell
Jay Lethal
Jeff Hardy
Johnny Devine
Konnan
Mark Copani (new signing )
Matt Bentley
Monty Brown
Norman Smiley
Petey Williams
Raven
Ron Killings
Samoa Joe
Scott D'Amore (making him a regular wrestler now because he actually has decent enough talent)
Senshi
Shane Douglas (gonna be my main authority figure)
Shark Boy
Simon Diamond
Sting

My goal is to be able to get other guys to written deals (particularly Christian Cage and AJ Styles)

I tried to convince Jericho (open deal with WWE) to come to TNA, but he would have none of it...not even on an Open contract

I started with just $6 million, so I decided to get the staff improved. Released the crap staff members and signed better people.

And last but not least, I shortlisted 15 WWE workers and sent out a tape to Fox just for the hell of it.

Originally, I wanted Shelton vs. Orton to be the first semi match, but Orton's neck injury prevented that. Ah, well. My plan was to have Edge and HBK feud over the belt, so it didn't affect the overall finish.

Okay, after the huge disappointment of what happened with my WWE game, I started over with Ring Of Honor. I don't know much about ROH, so I think I'll feel less constrained by storylines and things. Right off the bat, I signed as many people to written contracts as I could, including:

Ace Steel
Adam Pearce
BJ Whitmer
Bryan Danielson
Chad Collyer
Claudio Castagnoli
Colt Cabana
Delirious
Jay Briscoe
Jimmy Jacobs
Jimmy Rave
Julius Smokes
Lacey
Mark Briscoe
Prince Nana
Ricky Reyes

Everyone else (with an overness of 25+) either has touring commitments in Japan or also works for TNA, so they won't sign a written deal with me.

I brought in Electronic Arts, Domino's Pizza, Sega, and New Line Cinema as sponsors. I signed a bunch of staff members to fill holes.

I also sent a video to TBS to try and get a TV deal.

Here's my first show card:

ROH - Testing The Limit 8/13/06

World Title - Bryan Danielson (c) vs. Homicide (w/Julius Smokes)
Pure Title - Samoa Joe vs. Nigel McGuinness (c)
Tag Team Titles - Austin Aries and Roderick Strong vs. The Briscoe Brothers (Jay & Mark)
AJ Styles vs. Alex Shelley (w/Prince Nana)
Christopher Daniels (w/Allison Danger) vs. Claudio Castagnoli
KENTA vs. Jimmy Rave (w/Prince Nana)
Second City Saints (Ace Steel & Colt Cabana) vs. Havana Pitbulls (Black Tiger IV & Ricky Reyes)

I had to make some changes to the show, since I neglected to take touring schedules into account. Both KENTA and Nigel McGuinness were on a tour for NOAH on the 13th. So, I just combined their matches into Joe vs. Jimmy Rave. I also added Chad Collyer vs. Jimmy Jacobs and BJ Whitmer vs. Jack Evans.

---------

Pre-Show

Christopher Daniels did an interview to hype his match with Claudio Castagnoli.

Rating: 75%

Segment Two

BJ Whitmer over Jack Evans with the Super WC Exploder. After the match, the opponents shake hands.

Rating: 57%
Crowd: 37%
Match: 78%

Segment Three

Chad Collyer over Jimmy Jacobs with a Texas Cloverleaf.

Rating: 63%
Crowd: 42%
Match: 84%

Segment Four

Havana Pitbulls over Second City Saints when Black Tiger IV (Rocky Romero) pinned Ace Steel with a Tombstone after The Briscoe Brothers interfered. After the match, the Briscoes continued their assault.

Rating: 66%
Crowd: 51%
Match: 81%

Segment Five

The Briscoe Brothers over Austin Aries and Roderick Strong to win the ROH Tag Team Titles. Jay pinned Aries following the Jay-Driller.

Rating: 69%
Crowd: 49%
Match: 90%
Road Agent Notes: The ROH Tag Team Titles have gained in image.

Segment Six

Christopher Daniels over Claudio Castagnoli with the Last Rites.

Rating: 69%
Crowd: 59%
Match: 80%

Segment Seven

Samoa Joe over Jimmy Rave with the Kokina Clutch.

Rating: 67%
Crowd: 60%

Segment Eight

Bryan Danielson retains the ROH World Title against Homicide with Cattle Mutilation. After the match, Homicide takes out Danielson with a chair shot.

Rating: 71%
Crowd: 57%
Match: 85%
Road Agent Notes: The ROH World Title has gained in image. Homicide's new gimmick got a positive response.

Main Event

Alex Shelley over AJ Styles after interference from Homicide. Samoa Joe ran in to even the odds.

Rating: 74%
Crowd: 65%
Match: 83%
Road Agent Notes: Alex Shelley gained overness and AJ Styles lost overness.

Overall Show Rating: 67%
Top Segment: Christopher Daniels interview.
Bottom Segment: BJ Whitmer vs. Jack Evans.

-------------------------------------------

-EDIT-

So, now for Glory By Honor, I'm going to do:

World Title - Bryan Danielson (c) vs. Austin Aries
Tag Titles - Second City Saints vs. The Briscoe Brothers (c)
AJ Styles and Samoa Joe vs. Alex Shelley and Homicide
El Hijo Del Santo vs. L.A. Par-K
Christopher Daniels vs. Jimmy Rave
Jack Evans & Roderick Strong vs. Havana Pitbulls
Chad Collyer vs. Claudio Castagnoli
Adam Pearce vs. Jimmy Jacobs
Davey Richards vs. Delirious vs. Matt Sydal

I released all of the openers and jobbers and signed El Hijo Del Santo and L.A. Par-K. NOAH is touring throughout September, so I'm going to be without Nigel and KENTA again.

-EDIT AGAIN-

BJ Whitmer tore his calf. Out for nine months. Good thing I signed him to a written contract.

Damn loopy, you get the worst luck in this game Still, the card looks very solid

Anyways, I decided to vacate all titles and bring in the NWA North American Title (since I need an extra belt in there)

I also filled out all my feud slots. My first Impact show ended up netting a ridiculous 4.40 rating, and after that Spike TV decided to bump me up to prime time. Good thing WWE runs Smackdown on Fridays now. Now I'll have 11 slots to work with instead of 6, and I can put over the majority of my feuds on every show.

Oh yeah, probably should post the feuds I decided to give all previous title holders first dibs at the belts.

MAJOR:

Christian Cage (Face) vs. Chris Kanyon (Heel) - NWA World Heavyweight Title Feud

Christopher Daniels (Face) vs. Senshi (Heel) - NWA X Division Title Feud

AJ Styles and Jeff Hardy (Face) vs. America's Most Wanted (Heel) - NWA Tag Title Feud

----------

OTHER:

Jeff Jarrett (Heel) vs. Sting (Face) - Minor Feud for these guys? Yes, they are over enough as is...the other guys need it more)

Team 3D (Face) vs. The James Gang (Face) - Might turn the Gang heel, but I dunno yet. Might make it a mutual respect storyline because I don't want it to be just like the other tag feud.

Raven (newly turned heel) vs. Rhino (Face) - This'll probably end up being for the NWA North American Title

Abyss (newly turned face) vs. Scott Steiner (Heel) - Mainly gonna use this to get Abyss over. This could also end up for the NWA North American Title, idk

Samoa Joe (Heel) vs. Ron Killings (Face) - I really just needed something for Joe to do. His winning streak is meant to still be intact here.

World Title - Bryan Danielson vs. L.A. Par-K
Pure Title - Nigel McGuinness vs. A.J. Styles
Tag Titles - Briscoe Brothers vs. Generation Next
El Hijo Del Santo vs. Homicide
Christopher Daniels vs. Alex Shelley
Austin Aries vs. Claudio Castagnoli
Second City Saints vs. Havana Pitbulls
KENTA vs. Jimmy Jacobs
Chad Collyer vs. Jimmy Rave

Hahaha, WWE just released practically their entire OVW roster.

I'm pretty much gonna blackball A1, since he's unover and a crap worker. Took him out of Team Canada. Might sign Harry Smith in his stead.

-EDIT-

Holy shit they just released CM Punk. Gonna jump all over that.

-EDIT AGAIN-

And now they've released Chris Jericho. Christ, thank you WWE.

Same. EWR.

I actually just had a huge roster overhaul. TNA went global and gave written deals to AJ Styles, Samoa Joe (who was still out with a broken leg), Christopher Daniels, Homicide, and Low-Ki (who I had JUST signed).

So I had to go out and sign a bunch more people. I got Vampiro, Jody Fleisch, Mikey Whipwreck, Vampiro, Donovan Morgan, and Johnny Jeter.

Now the card for Vendetta, my first card with my new NEW NEW! lineup:

World Title - Bryan Danielson vs. Johnny Jeter
Pure Title - Nigel McGuinness vs. Alex Shelley
Tag Team Titles (Grudge Match) - Briscoe Brothers vs. Second City Saints
Undetermined Gimmick Match - El Hijo Del Santo vs. L.A. Par-K
Vampiro vs. Mikey Whipwreck
Sean Waltman vs. Jody Fleisch
Austin Aries vs. Donovan Morgan
Chad Collyer vs. Jimmy Rave
KENTA and Generation Next vs. Claudio Castagnoli and Havana Pitbulls

That's looking good loopy. I hope I can get people to written once I go global. Stupid Japan.

Anyways, I've sent the files to myself, so I can play on my normal computer later. I've got my first PPV, Hard Justice, coming up already. Haven't even determined a card, but I'll probably just base it all off my feuds (though I'll probably bump one of the matches to the pre-show, just so I can throw a non-feud CM Punk/Jericho match on the card...because I'm paying Jericho the most I wanna use him)

I also jumped on some other WWE releases. I signed the entire Spirit Squad and The Miz. They have all been allocated to the TNA Proving Grounds (new development territory). Indy workers Mitch Paradise and J-Busta were also signed (I have to sign Busta in every game it seems ) Most of the women of TNA were also sent down, as were some others. I might even see if I can send Copani down, because I have no real use for him at the moment.

TNA Hard Justice drew a great 82% Overall rating. However it only got me a 0.71 buy rate. Still, I made tons of money.

Probably going to go back into the WWE game tonight

Getting back into my WWE game, here's the results for the SmackDown! exclusive PPV, No Way Out 2007:

Pre-Show Segment: OK, regardless of what the commentary says...I pictured JBL gloating and being an asshole to the live audience...saying he's better than everyone despite not wrestling anymore. Undertaker makes a surprise appearance (I was gonna blackball him....but then I realized he's just too damn over) and kicks JBL's ass in a match. Just something for the fans. **3/4, 78% Overall

PPV Matches:

-Match 1: Ken Kennedy took advantage of the referee being down, and hit Lashley with brass knuckles to win the United States Title. But wait! Another ref runs out and tells the official what happened, Lashley is still champ! (Dusty Finish 4tw ) ***, 73% Overall

-Match 2: Paul Burchill pinned William Regal after hitting the Walking the Plank. ***, 77% Overall (Burchill gained overness, Regal lost a little bit)

-Match 3: Paul London and Brian Kendrick defeated The Pitbulls (Jamie Noble and Kid Kash) to retain the WWE Tag Team Titles when London pinned Kash. Holy shit, this match got 100% Quality. ****1/2, 87% Overall (The WWE Tag Team Titles have gained in image)

-Match 4: Bob Sapp shocked the hell out of everyone by cleanly defeating "The Animal" Batista. Sapp continued the onslaught afterwards. ***1/4, 80% Overall (Bob Sapp gained overness, Batista lost)

-Match 5: Gregory Helms once again cheated his way to victory, retaining his Cruiserweight Title against Matt Hardy. Helms hightailed it after. Holy fuck, ANOTHER 100% quality match out of my cruiserweights. ****1/2, 89% Overall (the Cruiserweight Title has gained in image)

-Match 6: Chris Benoit defeated Booker T via Crippler Crossface. Booker threw a fit afterwards. ***, 81% Overall

-We then segued into an interview segment, where JBL (who had been getting taunted by broadcast partner Simon Inoki all night over getting his ass kicked) grabbed a mic and cut another promo against The Undertaker. Yeah, it's been done IRL, but what else can I do with a non-wrestler? 82% Overall

Match 7: In our main event of the evening, Rob Van Dam successfully defended the Undisputed Title in a Fatal 4 Way Elimination Match against Rey Mysterio, Christian Cage, and Randy Orton (that was the order of elimination as well). ***1/4, 83% Overall

-----

We got an 81% Overall Rating for No Way Out...I like it.

1.85 Buy Rate for No Way Out. You know it was good, because Lashley, Kid Kash, and Brian Kendrick are all now at midcard status.

Some end of month notes for February:

FIRST OFF: CUTDOWN DAY

WWE would like to formally announce the release of the following superstars: Jonathan Coachman, Momma Benjamin, Big Guido, The Great Khali, and Mark Henry.
These are all people I have no immediate use for. Plus, there is a large list of people that will probably be released as soon as some new talent is ready to take over their current positions on the roster.
-----
Jazz feels that Ohio Valley Wrestling isn't helping her career much. Alright then, we can use some help in the women's division. ROSTER NOTE: I've also decided to promote Sonny Siaki and Axl Rotten to the full roster.

John Cena has returned from injury.

Staff member Ricky Steamboat has retired from WWE.

Ric Flair has decided to become a non-wrestler. Crap.

CW Anderson has retired.

I have a lot of contracts to renew.

My public image and money is rising.

The following birthdays occured this month: Big Show (36), Ric Flair (58), Danny Doring (33), Francine (35), Gangrel (38), Masato Tanaka (34), Victoria (36), Viscera (35), Lou E. Dangerously (36), Carlito (28), Sterling James Keenan (22), Kevin Matthews (24), Shelly (27), Damien Steele OVW (32), Shawn Spears (26), Tommy Dreamer (36)

The ECW brand isn't getting any younger. Might have to promote some OVW'ers soon.

----

Injured List:

Chris Masters - 1 month
Daivairi - 5 months
Danny Basham - 6 months

Rehab:

Masato Tanaka ( hurry up asshole )

On the last night of 2006, Ring Of Honor presents "Final Battle."

Tonight's show will be commentated by Jimmy Bauer and the incomparable Bobby "The Brain" Heenan, making his last-ever wrestling show appearance before retiring on January 1. All three ROH titles will be defended, and four of the top new stars in the promotion will battle it out in a tag team main event you won't want to miss.

Opening Match - Adam Pearce vs. Matt Sydal

The evening starts with a battle between two fan-favorite youngsters, trying to climb their way up the ladder (an increasingly difficult feat with the recent signings). Frustrated over being unable to gain an opening, Pearce removes a turnbuckle cover. The referee never notices. However, Sydal reverses the irish whip and Pearce gets knocked out by the exposed ring. Sydal rolls him up for a three-count. But a second official comes out to reverse the decision, pointing out the exposed buckle. Pearce wins by disqualification! Sydal is enraged and brutalizes the referee with a DDT, walking off to a chorus of boos.

Overall Rating: 52%
Crowd Reaction: 34%
Match Quality: 71%
Road Agent Notes: Matt Sydal gained overness from his heel turn.

Davey Richards vs. Jimmy Jacobs

Things continue to not go well for the fan-favorites, as Jacobs defeats Richards with the Contra Code.

Overall Rating: 56%
Crowd Reaction: 39%
Match Quality: 74%

Delirious vs. Claudio Castagnoli

Double C has had moderate success over the last few months, but Delirious is hoping to make a name for himself after being left off the last few cards. He does so by picking up a submission victory via the Cobra Clutch Crossface.

Overall Rating: 57%
Crowd Reaction: 44%
Match Quality: 71%

Austin Aries vs. Jimmy Rave

Aries has had some issues with The Embassy over the last couple of months, capped by Rave costing him a match against Alex Shelley. The feud won't end tonight, though, as interference from a chair-wielding Shelley allows Rave to pick up the victory. Shelley and Rave continue to pummel Aries until Roderick Strong runs in for the save.

Overall Rating: 70%
Crowd Reaction: 53%
Match Quality: 88%
Road Agent Notes: Jimmy Rave gained overness from this match.

ROH Tag Team Title - Fourway Elimination Match

The top four teams in Ring Of Honor collide, with the Second City Saints (Ace Steel & Colt Cabana) defending the titles they recently won from the Briscoe Brothers. Cabana gets the first elimination of the match, pinning Generation Next's Jack Evans with a jumping powerbomb. The Briscoes then pin Ricky Reyes of the Havana Pitbulls following a double backdrop. And once again it's down to the Saints against the Briscoes. For the second month in a row, the Saints defeat their rivals, this time with Steel hitting the Steel Spike on Jay.

Overall Rating: 75%
Crowd Reaction: 59%
Match Quality: 91%
Road Agent Notes: The ROH Tag Team Titles have gained in image.

Chad Collyer vs. Jody Fleisch

Fleisch has made an immediate impact upon his ROH debut, and looked to continue his momentum toward a title match against Chad Collyer. After a solid match, he does so by pinfall following a superkick.

Overall Rating: 67%
Crowd Reaction: 55%
Match Quality: 79%

ROH World Title - Bryan Danielson vs. Mikey Whipwreck

Former ECW Triple Crown champion Whipwreck came to ROH looking to add the American Dragon's title to his resume. These two put on a wrestling clinic, with several near-falls going both ways. In the end, though, Danielson managed to gain some momentum and, following a top rope DDT, got a submission victory with Cattle Mutilation to retain the title.

Overall Rating: 78%
Crowd Reaction: 65%
Match Quality: 92%
Road Agent Notes: The ROH World Title has gained in image.

ROH Pure Title - Alex Shelley vs. El Hijo Del Santo

Alex Shelley was rewarded for his loyalty to Ring Of Honor by earning a title shot against Nigel McGuinness in October. He won the match, but quickly resorted to his rulebreaking ways. As punishment, Shelley was booked into this match against the Mexican legend looking for mainstream U.S. success. In a night of spectacular matches, this topped them all. In the end, Shelley managed to land Sliced Bread #2 to retain his title. As a show of sportsmanship, Hijo extended a hand afterwards, but Shelley ignored him and continued to show off.

Overall Rating: 84%
Crowd Reaction: 71%
Match Quality: 98%
Road Agent Notes: Alex Shelley gained and El Hijo Del Santo lost overness from this match. The ROH Pure Title has gained in image.

Sean Waltman & Vampiro vs. Johnny Jeter & L.A. Par-K

Four of the top newcomers to ROH (in the recent class of signees including El Hijo Del Santo, Donovan Morgan, Jody Fleisch, and Mikey Whipwreck) converge in tonight's main event. The winning team will go a long way toward solidifying their spots as top contenders in Ring Of Honor. After a solid contest, Vampiro pins the former La Parka following the Nail In The Coffin, sending the fans home happy.

Overall Rating: 74%
Crowd Reaction: 73%
Match Quality: 75%
Road Agent Notes: Sean Waltman's new gimmick got a positive response.

Overall Show Rating: 71%
Match Of The Night: Alex Shelley over El Hijo Del Santo
Worst Match: Adam Pearce over Matt Sydal

Final Battle was attended by 2634 people and gated $79,020.

ROH is pleased to announce the signing of Shocker to a written contract, and Devon Storm, Eric Young, and Shark Boy to open contracts.

grapplefanatics.net released their list of the 100 best workers for 2006, and ROH was well-represented with ten wrestlers.

- ROH World Champion Bryan Danielson rated #6! He trailed only Kurt Angle, Chris Benoit, Chris Jericho, ROH turncoat AJ Styles, and Shawn Michaels.
- Donovan Morgan ranked #30.
- Co-Tag Team Champion Colt Cabana came in at #33.
- El Hijo Del Santo was #34.
- Pure Champion Alex Shelley ranked #42.
- Mikey Whipwreck was #47.
- L.A. Par-K came in at #54.
- Vampiro was #58.
- Sean Waltman ranked 60th.
- Jody Fleisch was #70.

The top ten was rounded out by Rey Mysterio, Low-Ki (another ROH traitor), CM Punk, and Edge.

Alex Shelley and Roderick Strong are promoted to the Upper Midcard.

The following wrestlers/staff retired as of the end of 2006:
- Randy Savage (he's interested in opening his own promotion)
- Rob Conway
- Abdullah The Butcher
- Arashi
- Jerry Lawler (became a road agent)
- Bobby Heenan
- Joey V

The following wrestlers/staff will retire at the end of January:
- Tatsumi Fujinami
- Kato Kung Lee
- Larry Zbyszko
- Gypsy Joe

Donovan Morgan, Matt Sydal, and Jack Evans all get raises.

I made $1.56m in merchandise in December.

UPW, JAPW, and IWA-East Coast all go bankrupt! AAA has issued a bankrputcy warning.

The following birthdays occured in December: Chad Collyer (32), Johnny Jeter (25), Jimmy Rave (25), Nigel McGuinness (26), Claudio Castagnoli (26)

BJ Whitmer is still out four more months with a torn calf, and Prince Nana will miss five more with his neck injury.

On January 28, ROH will present the Trios Tournament. Ten three-man teams will battle it out in a one-night single-elimination tournament. The entire active roster will turn out (except for Whitmer. Donovan Morgan, KENTA, and Nigel McGuinness will be in Japan for the entire month of January and will also miss out) because the winners will be in line for a title shot of their choice at the Anniversary Celebration in February.

Seedings and names are yet to be determined, but the teams are as follows (in alphabetical order by team captain):

Alex Shelley, Jimmy Rave, and Matt Sydal
Austin Aries, Roderick Strong, and Jack Evans
Bryan Danielson, Colt Cabana, and Ace Steel
El Hijo Del Santo, Shark Boy, and Delirious
Jimmy Jacobs, Jay Briscoe, and Mark Briscoe
Jody Fleisch, Eric Young, and Claudio Castagnoli
Johnny Jeter, Mikey Whipwreck, and Devon Storm
L.A. Par-K, Black Tiger IV, and Ricky Reyes
Sean Waltman, Shocker, and Davey Richards
Vampiro, Chad Collyer, and Adam Pearce

That trios tourney is looking really good, Loopy. Nice work

Anyways, time for the RAW PPV, Backlash. It's only the 18th of March, but I wanna leave plenty of time for buildup to Mania.

PRE-SHOW: Johnny Parisi and Johnny Nitro had their blowoff match, with Parisi finally beating Nitro thanks to a mis-communication with Melina. Parisi and his manager, Torrie, celebrated. **1/2, 61% Overall (crap, the quality and crowd were both higher than 61....I think I'm gonna be in line for a non-clicky show)

PPV RESULTS:

Match 1: The Lords of the Ring successfully defended their tag titles against The World's Greatest Tag Team thanks to a partner mis-communication. ****1/4, 77% Overall (96 quality, 77 crowd.....77 overall yep, this show is gonna suck)

Match 2: In a Retirement Match, the young upstart Rene Dupree defeated Ric Flair despite a questionable finish. This is like the 9 millionth time Flair has retired, but oh well. **, 63% Overall

Match 3: Newcomer The Bloody defeated Mickie James to become the new Women's Champion, ending Mickie's near year-long reign. **1/2, 59% Overall (Mickie lost overness, Bloody gained)

Match 4: In a No DQ match, Kane defeated DX's Shawn Michaels, with a little extra help from Shane McMahon. HBK was further beaten down after the match, enough so that HBK needed medical attention. ***, 73% Overall

Match 5: Carlito defeated Sonny Siaki and Chris Jericho to retain the Intercontinental Title when Carlito pinned Siaki. ***1/4, 73% Overall

Match 6: In a Steel Cage Match, the newly turned corporate heel John Cena took on DX's Triple H. Despite the cage provision, Shane McMahon once again made a nuisance of himself, throwing a chair into the cage, only for HHH to intercept it and beat Cena with it. HHH wins, meaning there's still 1 member of DX on the McMahon hit list. **1/2, 75% Overall

Interview: Edge gives an interview before his title match, 84% Overall

MAIN EVENT: Edge stole the Undisputed Title, defeating RVD after a cheap low blow and then hightails it with the title. New Champion. ***1/2, 77% Overall

73% Overall rating for Backlash...which is a load of horseshit considering the match qualities and massive crowd reactions. Oh well.

I still put up a 1.87 buy rate...higher than No Way Out's, so it's all good

Dinsmore and Conway have been bumped up the card, both with overalls above 80 now. The Bloody has been bumped up as well.

Dammit! TNA signed L.A. Par-K to a written deal 12 days before the Trios Tournament. Cibernetico is going to take his place in the tournament, but...DAMN!

Damn.

Yeah, EWR seems to fuck you over at the worst possible moments.

Anyways, I haven't done any booking since Backlash.

Trying to plan out the Mania card as well as the post-Mania draft lottery. So far I have Angle/Edge set as the main event. I'm thinking about having HBK turn on HHH (since I have no idea what else to do with DX) and after a Mania blowoff match, HBK gets drafted by Smackdown in the draft lottery.

Here are the results.

Qualifier #1 - Vampiro, Chad Collyer, and Adam Pearce vs. Cibernetico & Havana Pitbulls

Cibernetico makes his ROH debut in this match, teaming with Ricky Reyes and Rocky "Black Tiger IV" Romero in the opening contest. In the end, Cibernetico hits a powerbomb on Adam Pearce for the victory.

Overall Rating: 64%
Crowd Reaction: 51%
Match Quality: 78%

Qualifier #2 - Generation Next vs. Jimmy Jacobs & Briscoe Brothers

Austin Aries, Roderick Strong, and Jack Evans reunite for the Trios Tournament! As much experience as Jay and Mark Briscoe have, the addition of Jacobs couldn't help them compete with the longtime partners. After an impressive match, Jack Evans hits a 630 on Jay Briscoe for the victory.

Overall Rating: 67%
Crowd Reaction: 51%
Match Quality: 83%

Quarterfinal #1 - Sean Waltman, Shocker, and Davey Richards vs. Jody Fleisch, Eric Young, and Claudio Castagnoli

A pair of ROH debuts, Shocker and Young, add extra excitement to our first quarterfinal match. Waltman's team of high-fliers came up short against Jody Fleisch's international team when Young rolled up Richards with a handful of tights.

Overall Rating: 67%
Crowd Reaction: 57%
Match Quality: 78%

Quarterfinal #2 - El Hijo Del Santo, Shark Boy, and Delirious vs. The Embassy

The debuts keep coming as Shark Boy teams up with two other masked wrestlers to take on Alex Shelley, Jimmy Rave, and the newest Embassy member Matt Sydal. Sharky makes his debut a successful one, hitting the Deep Sea Drop on Rave for the pin.

Overall Rating: 67%
Crowd Reaction: 57%
Match Quality: 77%

Quarterfinal #3 - Bryan Danielson & Second City Saints vs. Generation Next

In a battle of the fan favorites, G:Next attempts to continue their momentum against the ROH World and Tag Team Champions. In the match of the night up to this point, the champions come out on top as Ace Steel hits the Steel Spike on Roderick Strong for the win.

Overall Rating: 71%
Crowd Reaction: 58%
Match Quality: 85%

Quarterfinal #4 - Johnny Jeter, Devon Storm, and Mikey Whipwreck vs. Cibernetico & Havana Pitbulls

Devon Storm, the former Crowbar, is the last of tonight's debuts. These two hated teams put on a good match, but it was a bit overshadowed by its predecessor. In the end, Storm hit the Mindbender on Cibernetico for the victory.

Overall Rating: 64%
Crowd Reaction: 55%
Match Quality: 74%

Semifinal #1 - Bryan Danielson & Second City Saints vs. Jody Fleisch, Eric Young, and Claudio Castagnoli

The first berth in the finals is up for grabs as Danielson and the Saints hope to win the tournament, thereby not being forced into title defenses at Anniversary Celebration. In their way was the international team headed by Jody Fleisch. It came down to the captains, with Danielson making Fleisch tap out to Cattle Mutilation.

Overall Rating: 71%
Crowd Reaction: 61%
Match Quality: 82%

Semifinal #2 - El Hijo Del Santo, Shark Boy, and Delirious vs. Johnny Jeter, Devon Storm, and Mikey Whipwreck

One berth left in the finals, two star-studded teams in the mix. Whipwreck winds up pinning Delirious with the Whippersnapper to advance to the finals.

Overall Rating: 67%
Crowd Reaction: 61%
Match Quality: 74%

Finals - Bryan Danielson & Second City Saints vs. Johnny Jeter, Devon Storm, and Mikey Whipwreck

It's all come down to this. If Jeter's team wins, all three men will receive title shots at Anniversary Celebration. If Danielson and the Saints pull it off, they get Alex Shelley in a fourway. One way or another, the main event for ROH's first pay-per-view is set. After a lot of back-and-forth action (during which Johnny Jeter injured his back), Devon Storm rolls up Danielson by the tights for the win.

Overall Rating: 71%
Crowd Reaction: 64%
Match Quality: 79%

Overall Show Rating: 68% (Ugh. The game just doesn't understand tournaments, does it?)

----------------------

Bryan Danielson has moved up to the main event.

The crowd got sick of Storm, Danielson, Jeter, Steel, Colt, and Whipwreck. IT WAS A TOURNAMENT, PEOPLE!!!

Yeah, the fact that the game doesn't understand tourneys REALLY irks me. It's pretty much the only thing keeping me from doing a proper KOTR tourney (though I might have one around August on all 3 shows building up to a triple threat at SummerSlam)

YES! Finally some good news!

I got myself a TV deal. It's a primetime slot on DirecTV on Wednesday nights. I won't be able to get real big ratings, but running a weekly show should definitely help my mounting revenue issues.

I did the Anniversary Show. A dud. Damn. But all the titles gained in image, which is good. Only major change was Storm and Whipwreck winning the Tag Team Titles with help from the Briscoes.

I'm two TV shows away from Back To Basics. Here's the card:

World Title - Bryan Danielson vs. Jody Fleisch
Pure Title - Austin Aries vs. Alex Shelley
Tag Titles - Devon Storm & Mikey Whipwreck vs. El Hijo Del Santo & Shocker
Sean Waltman vs. Johnny Jeter
Second City Saints vs. Briscoe Brothers
Vampiro vs. Donovan Morgan
Generation Next vs. Havana Pitbulls
Shark Boy vs. Cibernetico
Chad Collyer vs. Eric Young

Yeah, TV shows are essential when using a small promotion.

Even if the ratings are subpar, you are making money and hopefully increasingly image (which in turn gives you more to spend on merchandising, production, and signing new wrestlers)

Its not until national/global status that the ratings become immensely important, I think

I'm up to about 79% Image at Cult status. I started at 65%, so I'm growing about 2% per month only doing the one show. TV definitely helps with image.

I'm thinking maybe somewhere down the line, setting up an "old-school versus new-school" feud, basically turning the guys I've signed heel to go against the guys who were with ROH when I started. This is still several months off, but the roster is pretty evenly balanced now between people I signed and people I brought in.

The only major issue is that most of the guys I've brought in are either main-eventers or upper-midcarders, so the top of the card would be really dominated by heels. Bryan Danielson is really the only homegrown main eventer I have right now. So, like I said, I'll need to wait a while before I do this. Try to get guys like Chad Collyer and Roderick Strong up into the main event first.

Yeah, I'm starting with a company I made up, the Wrestling Assocation of America. A small wrestling promotion based of of America, with the start up capital of $1,000,000 owned by Rudigar McGee (I made him up). It has no workers or staff. It has one Heavywieght title, which is currently vacant. And a public image of 50%.

I have signed the following workers:
Anthony Bartlette Jr.
Austin Lee
Daron Smythe
Fantastic Frank
Flether
Five Star Flash
Frankie Armadillo
Generalin Intikami
Genesis
Jett Taylor
Jo Jo Fantasico
Lil' Nate
Rich Myers
Rico Casanova
Ronnie Zukko

Also, I think I'm going to put the strap on Frankie because I like heel champs

BTW, I'm #18 out of 20

I just tied my best show with the Round Robin Challenge. In the main event, Johnny Jeter ended Bryan Danielson's 19-month reign as Ring Of Honor World Champion!

Each title was defended in a three-man round-robin format. Jeter beat Danielson and Shocker (Danielson also beat Shocker) to win the World Title. Austin Aries beat Alex Shelley and Donovan Morgan (Shelley beat Morgan) to retain the Pure Title. The Psychopaths retained the Tag Team Titles against the Briscoe Brothers and the team of Sean Waltman and Vampiro (the Briscoes also beat Waltman & Vampiro).

After the show, I released Donovan Morgan and wished him the best in his future endeavors. His Japanese touring commitments made him difficult to schedule and his matches were consistently rated poorly.

I'm at 87% image (still Cult status). I actually got a 2.00 rating for my last TV show, which is the maximum for a primetime show on DirecTV, so now I'm thinking of branching out to other networks. I still have five weeks left on my DirecTV deal, so we'll see if anyone bites before I renew.

On the next episode of the TV show, the Second City Saints are going to get the Tag Team Titles back from Storm & Whipwreck, setting up what will hopefully be the big feud-ending match at The Final Showdown against the Briscoes.

Currently, the card for The Final Showdown is:

World Title: Johnny Jeter vs. Sean Waltman
Pure Title: Austin Aries vs. Alex Shelley (these two always put on a good show)
Tag Titles: Second City Saints vs. The Briscoe Brothers
El Hijo Del Santo vs. Mikey Whipwreck
Bryan Danielson vs. Jody Fleisch
Shocker vs. Cibernetico
Vampiro vs. Devon Storm
Shark Boy vs. Eric Young
Roderick Strong vs. Black Tiger IV

It's a lot of repeat matches, but I'm still working with a fairly limited roster and the show's called "The Final Showdown," so...

loop, did your RoH game die or did you end up taking them up to the top? Or, did EWR just get boring?

That's what originally happened to me, I STILL haven't booked anything since Backlash but that is partially due to the fact I've been so damn busy.

This is the first time in about a month I've had consistent access to a computer/the internet. I've been so crazy with work and moving stuff that I just haven't had time to work on my ROH game. I'll get back to it soon, though.

where can i get the EWR update for the new rosters?

I made ECW it's own promotion and made it global and put all the guys who'd ever been there in it. Then put it on a network with 100% risk. I then pretty much killed new jack in his first match (high incident) then I put Francine and Some other girl (forgot the name) in an Buck Naked match. Chris Jericho fought Steve Austin and Benoit in a 3 way for the number one contendership and Rhyno fought RVD for the ECW TITLE. Raven V. Stamboli and Chris Chetti v. tracy smothers.

oh and Eliminators v. dudley.
