AEW Factions
I'll admit i only tune into AEW once in a while and haven't kept up with it the past month, but how many factions are there in this company now? seems like every time I try and catch up with what's going on, there's another faction. Someone list them all out for me lol. 3+ men/women teams counts as a faction

At least they are feuding with each other, not counting BF's cause they just finished their program.
Inner Circle vs Pinnacle Dark Order vs H.F.O. Nightmare Family vs QT Marshall's group (which I could see being done on AEW-Dark: Elevation, with maybe 1-2 matches on Dynamite) |

Plus I dunno I never thought of a trio being a faction, more of a group. Faction to me meant 4+ people that can cover every title division (World or Midcard, Tag and possibly a woman's doesn't have to) but that way some part is always involved and featured.

I think they think factions equal t-shirt sales and present an easy way of booking.

Just about everyone in NJPW is in a faction, makes it easy to book feuds with different stable mates pairing off.
Only difference really is that they also run a lot of tournaments and stable mates fighting each other happens kinda often there, nothing weird about it, "just business" |

If everybody is in a faction, factions mean nothing.

Stuff like Cody's Nightmare Family and now possibly QT's group feel like they're more along the lines of MMA fight camps. It's a bunch of guys that train together but don't necessarily operate like a traditional wrestling stable.
The fight camp approach is another thing seen in NJPW a lot. Unless you're on the verge of being murdered, your stable mates are probably not ever running out to help you. |

John Pollock had an good viewpoint about AEW's use of factions during last night's Review-A-Dynamite episode and why its similar to NJPW's usage of them.
Its both the best way to feature as many people on tv as possible, especially when you have a large roster like AEW, and also helps keep the more important singles matches for feuds fresh and special. A lot different than how WWE does it with them wanting only the same few people showing up each week and have them constantly wrestle each other in singles matches or tag matches if its a tag feud. End result for them is feuds that start to become stale quickly and PPV matches feeling less special. |

Boriquas vs DOA won worst feud of the year.
Yes they did Those DOA/NOD/Boriquas and later the Truth Commisson matches were horrendous. |

That’s because the wrestlers in those jobber factions sucked ass. Everyone in DOA, Los Boriquas and the Truth Commission were garbage.
But the Hart Foundation, DX, the Corporation, the Ministry, the Brood, the Oddities, Too Cool, Team RECK, the Nation, Right to Censor were all over factions during the Attitude Era |

Imagine thinking the Hart Foundation/DX feud was bad because the Mean Street Posse have really watered down what it means to be in a faction.
Stop with this. |
