Could never get past the prehistroic part of Ecco The Dolphin, ended up getting a code from Games Master to skip to the last level and it ended up being possibly the most ridiculously hard autoscrolling maze bullet hell dolphin simulator I've ever seen.

According to the producer of the Resident Evil series, Capcom could be enticed to allow a HD remake of Resident Evil 2 to be made if there is massive support for it by fans of the game.
Yoshiaki Hirabayashi states he would like to work on the project but would need a massive amount of support by the fans to try to convince Capcom to approve of the project. He did warn that even with the support, there is no actual guarantees of the project starting since Capcom could still refuse. Quote:

I tried the demo. It's a wrestling game in which I didn't do much wrestling. 90% of the time, the AI just kicks just as I press the grapple button. Then it climbs on the turnbuckle, taunts and jumps down.
I was amused by the Trey Parker Southpark Hillbilly style "Yeeeehuuuurrrrrrr" when the wrestler throws a hand into the air as a taunt. |

Ubisoft announces during a recent investor conference they think the free-to-play model should expand on consoles by favoring fully priced games instead of the current focus on free or cheap downloadable games.
Ubisoft revealed they are planning in the near future to start releasing more of their Triple A fully priced games into the free-to-play model on consoles while also hinting the model can easily become the new dominate model for the console market in the near future. The idea is instead of having the free-to-play model favoring actual free games or cheap downloadable games which then add in micro-transactions, the model should start off with a larger fully priced game and then add in more item-based transactions. Companies can then earn more revenues this way than with the current model or even then what the current DLC can provide. Ubisoft’s chief financial officer Alain Martinez said: Quote:

While the Xbox 360 was initially banned in Germany, US courts and the International Trade Commission have overturned the potential of the ban being applied in the United States.
The courts sided with Microsoft who was fighting to keep the system available in the US while Motorola and Google argued it should be pulled due to Microsoft infringing on several patents owned by Motorola. The original case occurred in Germany which was won by Motorola and appealed by Microsoft to the ITC. The ITC deferred the decision to the US courts who recently sided with Microsoft in their decision to dismiss the ban. The legal mess between both sides originally started in regards to a piece of video encoding tech found in the Xbox 360 which Motorola claimed was infringing on a patent they own. Motorola and Google had a feeling they would lose the case in the US which is why earlier they tried to offer a settlement deal with Microsoft who flat out rejected the offer. http://www.egmnow.com/articles/news/...torola-google/ http://www.destructoid.com/us-court-...s-235899.phtml _______________________________________________________________ Daily Recap: 1) Update to the Mass Effect Trilogy set as Bioware reveals the Xbox 360/PS3 version will have less DLC included than the PC version. 2) Even with the very sluggish sales, Sony has no plans for a price cut to occur for the PS Vita during this holiday season although they might be leaning on making Vita-PS3 bundles be available instead. http://www.egmnow.com/articles/news/...time-is-right/ http://www.screwattack.com/news/sony...ybe-ps3-bundle 3) In a recent interview with BAFT, Hideo Kojima reveals he still hasn't achieved his original vision with the Metal Gear Solid series which is why he still makes video games. His original vision was to create a game that was "truly immerse" and provide complete freedom for the gamer which he says gaming technology is slowly coming close to this goal. http://www.egmnow.com/articles/news/...l-gear-series/ http://www.siliconera.com/2012/10/01...-hideo-kojima/ |

Archos is going to be releasing a tablet called the Gamepad, an Android tablet that should operated along similar lines to Ouya (but probably much more expensive). It's a 7 inch screen with a full controller built around it, so sort of like WiiU. It actually looks more like a thinner PSP/Vita.
Archos also claims they're working with Android devs to bring "thousands" of titles compatibility with the controller scheme, so probably like Ouya. Anyway, it's interesting. And I generally like Archos. |

Ubisoft blames the lukewarm reactions towards the Splinter Cell Blacklist trailers as being the fans fault for being "misinformed" more than the company itself not doing a good enough job hyping the game.
In an interview with Eurogamer, David Footman who is the director for the game states the current reception to the game is due to people having "knee-jerk reactions" while the company itself is deliberately being slow giving out information on the overall experience for the game. Quote:

Ubisoft is planning to focus a lot of the game's hype as being a "Hollywood blockbuster" which is the main reason for the emphasis on action and a potential new direction for the series future. http://www.destructoid.com/splinter-...--235918.phtml ______________________________________________________ Daily Recap: 1) According to a leak by Amazon's UK branch, Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII could be getting a release date of March 29, 2013. http://www.egmnow.com/articles/news/...-release-date/ http://www.screwattack.com/news/rumo...-leaked-amazon 2) Potential box art image for an unannounced Star Wars game called "Star Wars First Assault" was recently leaked hinting the game is a downloadable title for Xbox Live Arcade. http://www.egmnow.com/articles/news/...ppears-online/ http://www.destructoid.com/box-art-s...t-235945.phtml 3) According to Microsoft employees, the company has currently increased security at the company's Redmond headquarters for the sole purpose to ensure nobody leaks any unapproved information for the upcoming Xbox 720. It also makes it easier for the company to track where leaks are coming from inside the company as well. http://www.egmnow.com/articles/news/...box-720-leaks/ |

The directed missile-strike in the E3 demo pretty much told me everything I needed to know. This is not the quiet sneaky Splinter Cell, it's Conviction's engine pushed through a FPS filter. They shouldn't fault gamers for calling it like they see it, especially with that summer blockbuster trailer. And if there is sneaky shit in their, why not show it?

I loved Conviction. Spent so much time in deniable ops.
Only problem with that game, was that the enemies would still talk shit, even when a dozen of their friends lie dead around them. Needs to take a cue from the batman games, and make enemies more nervous as you take out more people in the area. |
