My ideal booking goes like this:

1) Punk wins at the PPV. Immediately runs from the ring through the crowd to the outside to a waiting car, where he's driven off into the Chicago night. Why not have a cameo for Colt Cabana as the driver too?

2) Show ends with Cena looking shocked in the ring.

3) Following night on Raw, Vince announces that Cena and Punk are both gone from the WWE, and are not coming back. Any mention of either man is forbidden on television, the website or any other WWE medium.

He announces the start of a new era, and a tournament to crown a new champion with a new belt. The final will take place at the next PPV, Summerslam.

4) Punk "goes back" to ROH to a hero's welcome and forms an alliance with the Kings of Wrestling. He defends the WWE championship at shows. However, the WWE does not acknowledge this at all, and although there are obviously videos on youtube and mentions on forums, there is no official comment from the WWE.

5) At the finals, lets say between Del Rio and Big Show, Punk jumps the barrier and attacks both men with the old belt. A couple of guys from the back hit the ring. Punk clears a few of them but starts to get outnumbered before Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli also jump the barrier and fight them off.

As they the start to overpower the WWE guys, Cena's music hits and he rushes to the ring. But instead of decking Punk, Hero or Castagnoli; he teams with them a beats on the remaining WWE guys. Show ends with four men triumphant in the ring.

6) Next night on Raw, the show starts with the group in the ring. Punk says he called the WWE and said he'd come back and defend the belt one more time against someone of their choice, but on his terms and with his ROH guys as enforcers. He explains Hero and Castagnoli have his back, and they're here for one night only.

His reasoning for coming back is because he's CM Punk, and he can do whatever he wants, when he wants. Tonight Raw is CM Punk's playground and there's nothing the WWE can do.

Cena explains that he's with Punk because that speech he gave on the 27 June woke him up. He got into wrestling to be the best, not the most popular. When Punk beat him for the belt, he realised he wasn't the best. He tells the WWE Universe that the champ is here, and that the champ isn't him: it's CM Punk.

He confesses that he telephoned Punk and they reconciled, and hatched this plot. Cena says he doesn't hate his fans or his popularity, but it clouded his judgement and swelled his ego. It made his shallow and superficial, and distracted him from his goal of being the best wrestler the planet ever saw. He says he's going back to his roots, he's aligned himself with some of the best wrestlers in the world such as CM Punk, Hero and Castagnoli - and together, they will collectively be known as "The New Kings of Wrestling".

7) A match is booked for the championship, but under Punk's rules, and it's a triple threat with CM Punk and Cena versus any top babyface.

Cena helps Punk retain, while Hero and Castagnoli act as enforcers at ringside. A few run-ins from WWE guys, but the show ends with a simultaneous GTS and Attitude Adjustment in the ring from Punk and Cena.

8) The following week on Raw, "The New Kings" re-appear and admit that as the best in the world, they should be on the biggest stage in the world, and that stage is the WWE. They disclose that they have all signed with the WWE, but that their doing things their way.

Punk says he was rehired because the WWE admitted defeat and that there is only one true WWE championship - the one in his possession. The tournament to crown a new championship was, and he quotes, "in desperation". To restore some prestige to Raw, the WWE had to swallow their pride and rehire Punk.

Cena, Hero and Castagnoli were hired as part of the conditions of Punk's contract.

9) Thus starts a program with "The New Kings of Wrestling" dominating like the NWO. Hero and Castagnoli pick up the tag titles and Cena starts wearing wrestling-trunks instead of his jeans to symbolise his transition from a Superstar to a "wrestler".

Have the whole thing run for a while. Hero and Castagnoli could be on short term contracts and also appear on ROH at their will. Punk is the top heel on the show, and while Cena stops doing a lot of his "Hustle, Loyalty and Respect" schtick, he remains a tweener. Eventually, Cena comes back to the WWE's side, beats Punk for the title and thus dismantles the stable.

I haven't read through it but did notice it ends with "Eventually, Cena comes back to the WWE's side, beats Punk for the title and thus dismantles the stable." You could book the most logical, long drawn and well thought out storyline since the birth of the nWo and if it finishes like that, the mongs would still shit all over it, talk about it being a huge waste of time and so on.

Maybe because I don't really see this as a revolutionary moment. I think it could be an awesome angle for a couple of months and elevate Punk to a new level, at the most.

I'm being realistic in that there's no way the WWE would commit to turning Cena heel permanently because of the money he draws right now. A brief flirtation with a heel stable like this would probably be the most they'd do.

Punk would benefit greatly from being the leader of a proper stable for once; one that even includes Cena. Sure, it sounds a lot more like Nexus than it does NWO, but for those few months they'd be the hottest and most despised group of people in the industry.

I like Chavo's idea aside from the last bit only because the WWE should push a new face while Cena is in this stable. Maybe a face Miz?

So we're agreeing the ending sucks?

Meh, I didn't really focus on the ending too much as the heel turn for Cena and return for Punk are the bits that excite me the most. You can probably tell when I spent only one sentence summarising my finale.

They'd definately need to push new faces to feud with the group. Triple H would be an ideal rival, as he'd be fighting for the honour of the WWE against these (excuse the pun) punks who have gatecrashed the WWE and are disrespecting the legacy and achievements of everyone in the Hall of Fame.

Face Miz could work also - I love that idea. He could be booked as desperate to join the group, as he sees them as the elite. However, "The New Kings" toy with him, making him jump through hoops before they reject him for a third time. He snaps and takes them out. Obviously, they'd have to fight back and obliterate him to remain to appear strong, but that moment Miz snaps would be gold.

Especially if Miz once again wins MITB but cant cash it in this time cos there's no championship on Raw (forget about jumping to SD) It really could work. Im just thinking now tho that its very similar to Nexus from last summer and might be too fresh in peoples minds to do it again with Cena. Even tho he never turned heel with nexus

The ending is fine but every time Cena comes out on top in any program or show, a certain "type of fan" will shit all over it no matter what strictly because Cena came out on top.

It is very recent and similar. I hope if they were going to do something like this, they'd push the group with intent and leave any comparisons behind in the dust.

I really love the image in my head of the four men stood on the turnbuckles in each corner of the ring looking smug and soaking in the venom of the crowd. Hero and Claudio as tag champs; Punk as top bad guy and champ; and Cena as a rejuvenated heel. It excites me.

CSL, i think its THE WAY he comes out on top though. When he won the title off Miz that was fine. When he beat R-Truth in Washington that was bollocks. A fucking little Jimmy throws water on him and then he's done for?! That would be fine during the match but then Cena tosses him in the ring, AA right away and theres the 3? Not buying it

I was watching Capitol Punishment at a local Buffalo Wild Wings, and for some reason, the place when BALLISTIC when Lil' Jimmy soaked R-Truth. I didn't know exactly how to feel about that.

I just wish Benoit had done that murder angle ten years earlier. He pushed me so close to switching off wrestling forever with that championship run in 2004. When Randy beat him at SummerSlam i almost cried with joy. I wish Benoit's wife and kid were still alive and instead the selfish cunt had just hung himself and let us all move on. He was my most hated wrestler and possibly person of all time, nobody will ever touch him on that and i almost felt justified when i heard the murder/suicide news.

Ill never forget being stared at by Benoit and thinking he was a fucking nutjob. I was at a house show in Ireland, Benoit was on last defending the belt against Kane. Their match followed HBK vs HHH which had just completely tore the house down. It was epic and every fan was on their feet the entire time, crowd was probably 65%-35% in HBK's favour.
Then Benoit comes out. We could hear him talk to Kane from the front row at one point during the match, the arena was silent. Match felt like it lasted 100 mins but finally after Benoit won he was holding the belt high above his head as the majority of the crowd clapped him. He was showing the belt to all corners of the crowd and when he turned towards us, we all flipped him the bird. There was 5 of us doing it and he definately saw us to the point that he lowered the belt down significantly and just stared a hole through me and my mates. We joked afterwards saying how cool it was that we pissed Benoit off but we all agreed as we stood there flipping him off that we were kinda frozen scared when we realised he saw us. Is that because he looked like an actual nutjob that could just go off and kill a fan? We didnt give him much shit during his match except a few boos so he had no reason to react so badly towards us.

On a seperate note Edge vs Ric Flair was on that card too and Flair wrestled for 2 full mins with his tights down and pasty ass hanging out. The greatest moment though was when he climbed the turnbuckle right in front of us and we got a mighty shot of his massive white ass. Truly a beautiful sight

The irony of bringing Benoit up in this thread is that the match he no-showed was meant to be against Punk. That match would have been awesome.

We were 20 at the time you ignorant wankstain. And one of the guys i was with is a former kickboxing world champion who i have tried to encourage to start wrestling. Just watched the promo again. Absolute thing of beauty. But there's one thing missing that I wish Punk had mentioned:

While he was ranting about being the best and not being used properly etc, he should have mentioned Survivor Series 2006, and used insider terms, like how he 'outpopped' the biggest 'babyfaces' in the company... and look where that got him... on ECW! (or something along those lines...)

Honestly, this is either a really GREAT work or its real because I'm second-guessing myself now.

I seriously think he's leaving. Seriously. I'm seriously thinking he's leaving and not coming back. I think he's going to win the belt at the PPV, only to have the MITB winner (it makes the MOST sense for it to be Kofi, his real life friend and former tag team champion partner who is one of the only guys he likes in the locker room) to come save it. He puts him over on the way out.

I don't see Del Rio winning it because he already got the Rumble this year and no one else in MITB makes sense for this storyline, assuming that MITB will even play into it.

Whatever happens, I'm watching to see.
