That being said, Chyna is in no definition of the word a "mainstream celebrity". Mainstream means that you're basically a household name (i.e. John Wayne, Elvis Presley, George Clooney, Tom Cruise, etc.). Chyna is as much a celebrity as Snooki or Paris Hilton or basically any other mutant that people think is interesting just because they're an idiot on TV.

Maybe it's just because of the country I'm in, but if you mentioned Chyna to someone, you'd either get a shrug or after some prompting, an "oh yeah, what the fuck is she doing now" where you can gleefully show them what she's doing now.

You can be a former celebrity, like reality stars who are no longer on TV. She easily falls into that category. People like Elvis are still "celebrities" because they manage to be in a segment of the populations thoughts regularly and are talked about. Nobody that I know or see online talks about her other than on here.

On a serious note though Chyna is not a mainstream celebrity. Snooki and Hilton are (though they shouldn't be and I hope 2012 brings the end of the society that made them into celebrities). Like I said Chyna isn't known by anyone who wasn't a wrestling fan at some point and even most wrestling fans today don't recognize her unless they grew up in that era of wresting. She's a former wrestler cashing in on the fact that somewhere some idiot will buy her porno simply because he saw her compete in WWF.
