Apparently WWE are foolish for putting their product up against PPVs of AEW’s quality.

There really is no awareness of where AEW is and where WWE is. AEW doesn’t even have a PLE deal. They’re still trying to get people to pay $50 a pop because WBD doesn’t see value in using their content to help HBO Max.

Now the dirt sheets have caught on that the working relationship with WWE could benefit TNA when it comes to negotiating deals. There are rumors it could end up on Wednesdays on a WWE-supported network.

Paramount has entered the chat, but I’ve been saying USA Network. PLEs on Peacock and maybe quarterly specials on CW Network. I don’t think this is likely, but them getting Netflix for international (outside Canada) would be pretty incredible for them too.

Meltzer has been on a particular spiral the last few days. According to him

-WWE wants to kill AEW before they get another rights renewal, because then they will be INCREDIBLY profitable. This is why WWE is counter programming, to prevent AEW from getting a new deal in 2029.
-Unless it is a main eventer, WWE will not try to resign anybody early, and will only offer take it or leave it contracts. They have been doing that forever, Dave only now reported it, right after Kross was on Hewani's show.
-WWE has the right to buy TNA whenever they want, TNA has no say in it.
-TNA tried to get Tony Khan to buy them twice, including before AEW was in existence, but Tony knew they were worthess and nobody smart would buy them (DON'T REMEMBER TONY BOUGHT ROH!)
-WWE is very afraid of CMLL, and want to steal Sin Cara away (LOL)
-No Young wrestlers want to go to WWE, which is why Kyle Fletcher and Hook signed new AEW deals, and why Ace Austin left TNA for AEW
-Record low demos for Collision is because EVERYBODY is watching on Max, which does not release viewership numbers
-With TBS and Max, Dynamite gets more viewers than Raw on Netflix, Netflix that does release viewing numbers, but those numbers and not factual, according to Dave

Raw only gets Collision numbers live, but Dynamite on HBO Max gets 200k+ while simulcast on TBS.

This level of insanity doesn’t help AEW. Makes it easier to cheer for them getting an ass whooping, honestly.

You’d think even a sicko would be able to realize that if WWE props up a #2 in the industry…there’s still a #2. It doesn’t change what AEW is or isn’t. There are actually more options for wrestling fans when TNA is there lol.

Why do they hate AEW so much for no reason? Seems like it would be counterproductive to have such a fixation on something that was so good for wrestling. If you’re just going to have a TNA there, why couldn’t AEW be that thing?

I liked it when Dave said that Sportsnet wanted AEW but AEW chose a different deal for financial reasons. Then Jimmy Korderas, who used to work at Sportsnet, came out and said that Sportsnet always wanted TNA. Then Dave Meltzer said it didn’t matter who picked up the phone first, they still had conversations. That was a good one.

This isn’t AEW-specific, but Dave is also on a “CMLL is the greatest product in the world” kick. I heard him talking about how many tickets they’re selling and comparing them to WWE. Someone should explain to Dave the role tourism plays in that. Doesn’t hurt that the tickets are dirt cheap.

AEW is a joke. A very unfunny joke with millions of dollars, but a joke nonetheless.

Dealing with AEW and Tony Khan must be maddening. It’s no surprise they’ve been dropped. Warner Bros/Discovery Global will eventually do the same. They’re horrible partners.

Tony is still saying he doesn’t know what the Max numbers are. This is no doubt a lie because the numbers are negligible, but why isn’t he getting more shit for playing that? If it were true, that would be fucking embarrassing.

Absolutely no buzz for their latest PPV. I presume they passed bodily fluids between each other and jumped off a bunch of stuff for attention too. Remember when a big knock on WWE was that nothing matters? AEW fans stopped saying that one to save face.

It’s crazy that their media partners won’t give them a PLE package. WBD are still keeping them at arm’s length and they’re doing PPV. And yet we’re STILL getting rubbish about how hot they are. That’s kind of at odds with reality.

In AEW's defense apparently the buildings they are running are not union buildings, so it is OK to not meet standards.
