lol I see so many people calling in airdrops indoors.

Got to call in the pavlow a couple times. That and the harrier strike usually rack me up a ton of kills. Went 38-7 on terminal because of them. Went from 7-0 to 20-0 in the span of three minutes, after calling in the harriers.

Dunno if they actually changed it or I'm just better, but the M4A1 is beastly in this game.

Also doing some nice work with the RPD. Silencers on LMGs are lovely.

Yeah LMGs are my weapon of choice, seconded with sniper rifles.

Although I'm really digging the SCAR assault rifle atm.
Especially with the scrambler perk.

I figured out how to stay talking to your friends during Team Deathmatch....instead of a party you need to do private chat....

I love playing this online even though I pretty much suck at it most of the time.

Campaign is much easier than COD 4, yet The Pit was much harder than COD4. Also loving the drones. Great addition.

Really love this game. It definitely lived up to the hype for me. Story is as epic as it gets, Spec Ops is really fun, and multiplayer is intense.

Story mode really draws out emotions while your playing which is always a good thing. After I beat it I turned around and started a new one its just so much fun.

The customization in multiplayer is nuts, I feel overwhelmed with the choices of perks and attachments I can use. Mostly been sticking with the ACR assault rifle with Sleight of hand, Stopping power, and Steady Aim. Favorite new perk is definitely bling, assault rifle with a grenade launcher and a red dot sight is win. Up to level 51 right now, but plan on gaming through the night with some friends.

Anyways I'm getting off here, and jumping right back into it.

The drop things are way too powerful, was playing earlier won a FFA 30-5 only one other person got to 10 because I managed to grab someone elses pavelow at the start then got one of my own. Can see missle launchers becoming a very common secondary weapon to conteract all the stuff in the air.

Kills from perks from airdrops DO NOT count toward your killstreak btw if anyone thought otherwise.

Dug myself out of a huge hole just now. I was about 150 kills back to get to 1:1 because I was dicking around with the riot shield trying to get those challenges. Dead even right now though thanks to a 42-13 game and another 30-something game.

Perks make an otherwise great FPS (we had fun without them) into an annoying... joke. And in no way can someone say they had more fun than we did with Perks. That is of course if we were arguing fun. We're talking about game balance and elements that betray the underlying engine of a certain genre. It's like Madden Cards that do silly shit like increase fumbles and make certain players faster or stronger. From what I know the Madden community don't like that shit. And I feel like Perks in CoD make the game into a joke, riddled with 'chance' outcomes like, "I hope he doesn't have armor" or "I hope we can find this guy since he's not on radar."

This to me isn't skill, it's Fiesta Mode in Halo. A party feature, not to be taken as seriously as most of the CoD community takes it. I actually respect CoD as a military strategy game, but NOT with Perks on. Than it's Smash Bros.

It's not hard to find snipers. Even ones that aren't visible. And I like that there are radar jammers. It forces you to not completely rely on your radar.

There are no armor perks anymore so this is a moot point. And I never thought they were as big of a deal as otherrs did anyway.

What buffers are you talking about? I successfuly flank people all the time. By myself even.

Completely disagree. I think COD would still be fun without perks, but it wouldn't be played as tactical. At least not by most people. I think most would just be running around willy nilly looking for the nearest dot on the radar.

Perks make you think about every action you take. They force you to anticipate your opponent's actions, and devise ways of countering them. Good cod's have no wasted movement.

To be fair, this didn't happen till MW2, and you seem to have formulated this argument beginning with MW1. Besides, there's still muzzle flare, kill cam, and flat out visual confirmation that lets you know he's there.

Except it is balanced. Yeah, snipers can be silenced and radar invisible, but the silencers do piddly damage. Unless you're capable of a head shot every time (and even then with a silencer on I don't believe it's a sure one shot kill), you're left having to take 2 or 3 shots from a distance with a relatively high recoil rifle. I was ready to kill when I got a silencer for my Intervention, but I took it off after one match where I couldn't even kill in 2 shots. Infinity Ward knows what they are doing. There's nothing in this game I can think of that breaks the balance.

As for the underlying engine bit, come on. Games are supposed to be innovative. If the underlying engine is always the same, what's the point in playing different games?
