Why was the Joker talking. Aren't they suppose to mumble and stuff. Did Lego's do this before.

Voice acting is one of the new things they're trying, along with a huge world hub of Gotham City. Good to hear Clancy Brown as Lex again.

I really liked the voiceless versions of the Lego games, but I'm not adverse to trying this. Of course, I never played the first Batman title, so I might want to do that.

After months of phishing attacks on the Xbox 360 involving FIFA 12's Ultimate Team mode, EA finally releases a patch to fix the problem on their side of the attacks.
The fixes are part of a larger patch which will update and fix in other bugs of the game. Logging in to Ultimate Team mode now requires a security question to be answered if its being accessed from a different console or once every 30 days if accessed from a web browser. Users can now also lock their accounts anytime they want to prevent unwanted access when they are not playing the game as well. Microsoft has been patching their side of the issue since the release of FIFA 12 but this will be the first time EA has actually done something to combat the problem. Previously EA stated their game wasn't responsible for the problems nor had any fixes besides asking people to be more careful with their credit accounts. http://www.egmnow.com/articles/news/...ection-update/ _________________________________________________________ Daily Recap: 1) Update on Obisidian's layoffs as a current rumor states Microsoft was responsible for cancelling and pulling funding for the unannounced project meant for the next Xbox console which ended up causing the layoffs. http://www.egmnow.com/articles/news/...-by-microsoft/ 2) Possibly influenced by Activision's Call of Duty Elite model, EA announces they are considering adding their own subscription-based model for future games in the Battlefield series. http://www.egmnow.com/articles/news/...efield-titles/ 3) Before the decision to include multiplayer into Mass Effect 3, Bioware was originally considering making a FPS game involving the Mass Effect brand. http://kotaku.com/5893424/there-was-...oter/gallery/1 Bonus News: CBS, owners of Gamespot, has bought out Giant Bomb and other companies in the Whiskey Media brand. According to Giantbomb, they won't be merged in with Gamespot but will be having some Gamespot employees working for them. http://www.giantbomb.com/forums/gene...n-sold/539505/ |

Bethesda rumored to be making an MMO style Elder Scrolls game and could have been a key reason behind the lawsuit against Mojang's game called Scrolls.
The game is set as a prequel to the series and is expected to be called Elder Scrolls Online. In terms of storyline, it will occur during the "Second Era" or roughly hundreds of years before the earliest game in the series and about a millennium before Skyrim. There will also be three playable factions with each faction represented by an animal (lion, dragon, bird of prey). The game is set to arrive this May although no other details were given. http://www.egmnow.com/articles/news/...vealed-in-may/ ____________________________________________________________ Daily Recap: 1) Blaze Europe confirms a new Neo-Geo handheld will be arriving later this year although current rumors place the price around over $600 or $700. http://www.giantbomb.com/news/hey-re...y-exists/4038/ 2) Racket and Clank HD Collection has been confirmed for a May release for Europe and a Fall 2012 release date for the US/Canada. The set includes the original game R&C game, R&C Going Commando, and R&C Up Your Arsenal. http://www.egmnow.com/articles/news/...ion-announced/ 3) Dynasty Warriors Vs for the Nintendo 3DS will include unlockable costumes mimicking Link from Skyward Sword and Samus from Metroid Other M. http://www.screwattack.com/news/dyna...etroid-other-m 4) Details regarding Final Fantasy Versus XIII will be arriving soon based on hints revealed by Tetsuya Nomura, the director of the game. http://www.screwattack.com/news/ffxi...ming-soonmaybe |

Also, some guy has lodged an official complaint with the Better Business Bureau and Federal Trade Commission because he didn't like the ending of Mass Effect 3.
Between going that far over a games ending and everyone crying over DLC in ME3 and SFxT, I'm starting to go off my fellow gamers. The way I see on-disc DLC, they keep the price of the game at a reasonable level while everything else in life is increasing in price. By selling the game for £40/$60, the game is at a managable price but, with production (and life in general) getting more expensive, this is less of a profit, realitively speaking. So, rather than hiking up the price of the game instore and damaging sales, they keep it at a price we will accept. The DLC then lets them make an actual profit in a way that's optional and more managable because it's spread out of a few months. If the alternative to locked on-disc DLC was paying an extra £30/40 or an extra $40/50 for every single thing unlocked, would people prefer that? As I see it, that's the legal* options. £40/$60 for the game and a few extra £/$ for locked DLC every other week or £80/$100 instore for everything included. *specifically put in the word "legal" so Hasney wouldn't suggest his prefered method, which is besides the point. |

I like the fact that actually going through proper channels gets more controversy than the death threats Devs get. I also wonder how many of those were Fangerl. Quote:
Seriously, though, not everything rises in price. A lot do, but so what? They don't need to subsidise the costs with DLC. Have you seen how much more money they made in 2011 than 2010? Have yuo seentheir projections for 2012? The games industry as a whole is gonna like double over the course of three years! Quote:

Honestly, if they're going to hit us with 40 bucks of DLC, something they would NEVER charge us for on-disc if they were being transparent, they should lower the initial price point. Otherwise, they've been making BILLIONS, so the argument that they need to do this to keep up is just plain false. Also, why don't games like Skyrim need to do it? There's hundreds of hours of content on those games, with fewer iterations in between. Why aren't companies like Bethesda and Obsidian in the toilet? Rockstar? C'mon, man, it doesn't pass the smell test. But yeah, it really pisses me off when consumers go to consumer advocacy groups or want things at a reasonable price like consumers. Why can't they just be wallets with legs? Wanting honesty, transparency, and fairness are so selfish. y u so intitld, gamurz? |

In a discussion concerning the Dragon Age series, Bioware revealed their plans for the future along with the news of an unannounced Dragon Age II expansion pack ending up becoming cancelled.
Mark Darrah from Bioware mentioned future games in the series will focus a lot based on the results gained from both fan opinions and feedback from the first two games. Besides the official forums and social media sites, Bioware will also have its first public forum for future games starting at PAX East next month. Quote:
The DLC pack wouldn't have Hawke as a playable character but Bioware still has plans in the future to end his story although most likely now as part of a potential Dragon Age III game. http://www.egmnow.com/articles/news/...-ii-expansion/ ____________________________________________ Daily Recap: 1) Ubisoft announces the 3DS version of Rayman Origins has been delayed from a March 22 release date to now a June 8 date for Europe while the US/Canada still has no release date given. http://www.screwattack.com/news/raym...s-been-delayed 2) According to Firaxis Games, the PC version of XCOM: Enemy Support will have both mod and mouse support along with the potential for the map maker being similar in style to Civilization V. http://www.screwattack.com/news/pc-v...-mouse-support 3) EA releases their annual list of games having server shutdowns this year with the majority being games released in 2010 and the first Online Pass enabled game, Burnout Revenge, also listed for the shutdowns. http://www.egmnow.com/articles/news/...or-more-games/ |

Oh crap, this is impacting single player content, too. Apparently, the Saboteur will be impacted. Though I think the only thing that came with that was a patch so you could see bewbs, so I won't miss that. But that means in the future, we could see other similar shutdowns.

Congress is considering a bill that would potentially treat video games similar to tobacco and alcohol products.
The bill is aimed at adding warning labels to all ESRB-rated game and was written by Joe Baca, D-California, who has been pushing the idea around since 2009. The original 2009 and 2011 versions only targeted games rated higher than "E" but the 2012 expands to include all games regardless of its rating. The warnings would not actually detail what questionable content is in a particular game like the ESRB does but would be pushed as an actual health warning label. Quote:

I kind of like the DA2 demo...I need some cinematic styled RPGs to play until Bioware comes out with new DLC and I have to get my Mass Effect 3 (disc one) repaired. The wife and kids are visiting my in-laws at the same time I go back to work as well.
