Because we still haven’t had an actual thing pointed out to us as to why CM Punk had heat backstage. Dave even got choked up talking about it and basically stooged off off there was nothing Punk did.

Dynamite in Bridgeport tonight. As of today they had sold just under 3,000 tickets. Their first show there in February sold just under 6,000.

Doubtful that there will be much movement in terms of day-of ticket sales. Not with that card they've announced.

Tons of open seats in the middle camera side section, because they cost like $90 and after Ticketmaster fees it's probably like $150. That's just not justifiable for this card. Glad I'm staying home.

Oh and also traffic was an absolute nightmare going into the arena last time they were here. I got caught in it but managed to still get into the lot and in my seat a few minutes before Dark at 7 PM. Tons of people couldn't get into the arena until well after Dynamite has already started.

Definitely the kind of thing that would make people swear off ever wanting to go again. Add in that the product is clearly not hot now and yeah. Not a great look.

i have absolutely no desire to watch tonight. my buddy is canceling his sling account (i use his login to watch pretty much AEW only), and i don't think i really even care to find another way to watch it. youtube clips will probably do for the time being. they just aren't doing anything that i really care enough about to start paying more for it through some service i don't already have.

Yeah, the matches tonight are a big nothing. AEW are advertising four separate promos tonight (Mox, MJF, Samoa Joe, and Saraya/Britt). Which I mean, yeah, on a go-home show it isn't surprising. But for that same reason it's tough to imagine anything transpiring that I couldn't very easily find on YouTube, AEW's social media page isn't exactly afraid to post full segments when it suits them

Ditto for the Elite's return I assume is happening either tonight or Saturday. AEW will obviously post it, there's not much need for me to sit in front of my TV to catch it in realtime.

I've ordered every AEW PPV and have had no regrets. They've all delivered IMO, and considering I share the account and split the costs it's been even more of a no-brainer to keep it going.

I'm still getting Full Gear as I feel like the show itself will be good. I can see some belters on here, and see it being a card that overdelivers on expectations the fans now have after a lousy build.

But the fact it has a lousy build at all is a big problem. If I weren't splitting costs this would likely be the first AEW PPV I'd completely skip. Even though I think the show could overdeliver, that wouldn't be enough for me to fork over $50. And I assume there's a bunch of people in that boat who are skipping accordingly. Wouldn't be a surprise if they draw their lowest buy rate of the year.

yeah i usually get together with friends and we all split the cost so it's pretty cheap, but no one can get together this weekend and i'm pretty sure i'm not dropping like $60 on this card.

Someone came to me with this crazy theory. They think Chris Jericho is trying to sabotage MJF. Yeah *as if* the GOAT has a shred of insecurity. They said Bryan Alvarez stooged it off this week. They said Bryan talks to Jericho and when Bryan said “MJF might turn face for a while” that he tipped the plan is for MJF to turn, it not work, then turn back.

But why would AEW do that to MJF? Do you think guys like Jericho want to work any less hard when they’re getting paid millions and have worked hard for 30+ years? HIGHLY UNLIKELY!

There's a billion things you can do with an MJF title run and time shouldn't be a concern because I suspect he's going to hold the title for at least a year. Even if he's booked as a face at the beginning of his run, I fully expect that by this time next year MJF will be back to being the biggest heel in the company and continually threatening to walk out the door with the title.

He's flatly denied the rumors that he's secretly signed an extension. I mean, in sports there are deals reported as extensions but really it's just the team ripping up an old contract and replacing it with a brand new, more lucrative long-term deal. Maybe this is actually what happened, maybe it isn't. It's not like MJF is going to say anything either way, and the company won't either since there's meat on the bone to make an angle of the "bidding war of 2024".

A couple months ago, MJF getting a run and then dropping it to Wardlow to build up your homegrown superhero mega face seemed like the obvious way to go.

I haven’t been watching but I know Wardlow has cooled off. I don’t know how you handle that situation now. You’ve got a homegrown heel you can build the company around and a homegrown face you can build a company around but both feel like they need the title ASAP for different reasons.

Trios match is gonna rock at the PPV, super excited to have Kenny and the Bucks back.

Im super intrigued by the TNT title match, theres no outcome that would surprise me I dont think but Wardlow retaining would make sense... Hobbs as champion is probably the right call in my mind. So long as Joe doesnt win I'm into it really.

The MJF winning outcome seems very pre determined. Are we sure Regal isnt turning? All this devil doesnt exist stuff with Regal knee deep in it all and Mox probably going on sabbatical after. Feels like theres something there to me with the gentleman villan and as much as MJF doesnt need someone to do his speaking I wouldnt hate it.

MJF vs. Darby for the title will be an absolute banger of a match/series and if Regal does turn Sting and Regal shenanigans will be gold as well. I really hope that move from MJF to someone else isnt hugely telegraphed but if he gets the big run everyone expects I guess it will be. I want an unexpected champion so bad. Penta preferably.

Trying to watch this as “background TV” while I read and I have only looked up three times.

Once for an awful, incredibly long rap song that sucked big ass.
Once because I heard a Geordie accent and I needed to know why.
