I’m curious when they’re going to write off Moxley. He went from being unstoppable to eating pins from Omega 3x since their title match. Of course none of them have been clean, but I don’t wanna see him continually losing either.

Moxley vs. Josh Barnett at Bloodsport 6 is happening at the same time as tomorrow's Night 2 show for NXT TakeOver. |

The ONE MMA show after Dynamite was pretty entertaining and something I'm going to stick with for watching after Dynamite for the time being.
This Rodtang guy was a beast in the main event. Basically was playing with his food for Round 1 and then almost utterly destroyed his opponent in Round 2. The other guy was gushing blood as if he was pulling a Britt Baker from a few weeks ago. |

Hopefully that rating is a big wake up call for AEW. There are a lot of thing that need overhauled, Omega and this Elite storyline for starters. Too many jobbers all through the show. It's just got to get a strong focus on the top talent and push away. The top talent is obvious and the talent that sucks is obvious. I think this week is a good week to check out the quarter hour views and drop offs, I hope see one posted here once Dave writes it up.

I'm surprised AEW still managed to top NXT in terms of the key demo since if there was a week for NXT to pull off the very rare double victory moment, it was this week.
Looking at those numbers, the bulk of NXT's gain this week came from old people while they took a hit with young people. AEW managed to actually go up with younger people but didn't spike anywhere as big as NXT did for their old people group. |

That said AEW still has its moments on every show. It's still an OK wrestling show. Just not what it could be. |

I agree that they definitely have their moments each show. It is the best wrestling show on right now but the misses are major. It is frustrating because AEW came at the right time for me, I was really tapping out of WWE and for the most part wrestling in general. AEW reignited that interest big time but as they are petering on the brink of Total Nonstop Action I am getting less and less interested in watching live every week, and some weeks not watching even on demand.
I think they need to get the belt off of Kenny ASAP, back onto Mox and end this Elite storyline altogether. Somehow they need to get a main event program that will get people talking, that could be Mox/MJF/Jericho in some kind of three way program or just Mox/Jericho... They need to do something exciting with Christian, he should be working off of Jericho in some way that would obviously be money. They also need to do something exciting with Paul Wight. It's silly that nobody wants to book him in his best possible way. Unstoppable monster. I don't know maybe that is done with but he has to do something interesting. He's too big of a name to go to waste with over a month in and no hint of a program. Push Cage, push Archer, push Cody, push OC. I'm not sold on Darby, sorry I know he has some really fun matches but as a draw I just don't know that he will make it there. Maybe I'm wrong on him because I have a personal bias after seeing him treat one of his friends who is an addict so poorly on youtube Jackass like videos. Ah man wouldn't it be great if The Death Triangle had like 25 minutes each week and the Young Bucks went back to Japan for half a year, or to TNA or whatever, just somewhere to get something fresh about them. Tony did an interview once saying how they struggled the first few months of AEW but I totally disagree. The debut up til Full Gear was fucking amazing and some of the most fun wrestling I've ever enjoyed watching. Whatever was going on then was a lot more straight forward and we hadn't seen so many angles drawn out for months and months and interweaved with other stories and turns and debuts and so on and so forth. |

Death Triangle needs a major push. Lucha bros should be the ones to take the belts off the bucks and PAC needs to be back in the main event scene. He's one of the best guys they have both in the ring and on the mic.
All the hype around omega joining AEW was based on him being "The Best Bout Machine" in Japan and its mind boggling how we've seen none of that from him in AEW. He's had good matches but nothing on the caliber of what he did in Japan. Marko Stunt needs to fuck off. He doesn't belong there. I don't mind small guys taking on bigger guys, but there's a limit. I'm not gonna sit there and watch a guy that looks like he'd struggle against my 85 year old grandma, make guys twice his size bump for him. And Luchasaurus is sloppy as fuck. Jungle boy is the only good one from that group. Darby impresses me because he's so fucking fast, while at the same time makes everything look so smooth. He reminds me of the original Tiger Mask in that regard. |

Problem is this pandemic has gone on way longer than they expected which is why more cracks keep popping up in their booking since they can't go back into normal routine. Also them eventually having to bite the bullet and do stuff they wanted to save but now under less than ideal conditions like the upcoming Blood & Guts match. |

It pretty much boils down to a mix of them vastly underestimating how long this pandemic was going to last and them fearing over losing too many big money making moments and matches if they just acted as if everything was normal.
WWE is in a similar boat in regards to the former since they didn't think their stay at the Performance Center and ThunderDome was going to last beyond the summer. Main difference is WWE has a massive money coming in from their tv and Peacock deal unlike AEW (and other promotions) so they don't have those same financial and booking worries. Like that Blood and Guts match would have easily sold out AEW's New Jersey show had it taken place at the time but now its going to make them way less money due to it being in front of a much smaller paying crowd but AEW felt they couldn't hold off on doing that promised match any longer. For some reference the Prudential Center in NJ has a capacity of around 16k for events while Daily's Place is still limited to around 1k for big shows. |
