How much of WrestleMania is usually devoted to wrestling time? It'd be interesting to know. Getting everyone on the show that needs to be on it, I've got a ten match card. They've done that at Mania before, but last year only featured eight.

The Rock vs. John Cena

WWE Championship
CM Punk (c) vs. Chris Jericho

WWE Divas Championship
Beth Phoenix (c) vs. Kharma

Hell in a Cell
The Undertaker vs. Triple H

World Heavyweight Championship
Daniel Bryan (c) vs. Sheamus

Cody Rhodes & Shaquille O'Neal vs. Big Show & Goldust

Randy Orton vs. The Miz

Kane vs. Zack Ryder

Team Laurinaitis vs. Team Long
Alberto Del Rio, Christian, David Otunga, Drew McIntyre & Mark Henry vs. Ezekiel Jackson, The Great Khali, Justin Gabriel, Santino Marella & R-Truth

WWE Tag Team Championship
Kofi Kingston & R-Truth vs. Dolph Ziggler & Jack Swagger

That's also the order I would do the matches, from bottom-to-top.

I'm curious as to how many matches there will be on the card. The last three years have featured 8, 10, and 9 matches, respectively. WM26 saw matches like Rey/Punk get severely shrunk, and last year the 8 man tag was incredibly short as well because they were strapped for time. I'm expecting Rock/Cena and Taker/HHH to take up nearly 90 minutes between the matches, long video packages, and promos.

I'm not sure we'll see Zack Ryder vs. Kane. It would make sense, but for some reason I just have a hard time seeing that match actually happening at WrestleMania. Instead, I'm guessing that Ryder finally gets his US Title match. As for Kane, Laurinaitis picks him as an injury fill-in for Wade Barrett in the Laurinaitis/Long tag match. Kane's character really wouldn't give a shit about who's in control of the shows, he just wants to hurt as many people as possible. The match would be able to set up his next feud for Extreme Rules and beyond.

And speaking of the tag match, I see it being absolutely loaded it with big names and it being 7 on 7, Bragging Rights-style so that it would get plenty of time. I'm calling that Rey Mysterio appears for Team Long. Rey's apparently been making a push to try and be ready for Mania, and being in a huge tag match would be able to ease him back into the fold rather than making him be in the ring the entire time.

I'll go with an 8 match card, this way ideally nothing gets rushed and they don't find themselves having to bump a match they've promoted off the card altogether. Also, I think my card is realistic in that I don't have any guys appearing on the show that I don't think would get a proper WM payday in real life (sorry Noid, but I just can't see guys like Zeke, Gabriel, or Drew getting onto the card). Drew would make sense...but I feel like there are enough other big names to squeeze on I don't think they'd put Drew in.

In no particular order:

The Rock vs. John Cena

WWE Championship
CM Punk (C) vs. Chris Jericho

World Heavyweight Championship
Daniel Bryan (C) vs. Sheamus

Hell in a Cell (Special Guest Referee: Shawn Michaels)
Triple H vs. The Undertaker

Divas Championship - Lumberjill Match (to get all the divas a token appearance)
Beth Phoenix (C) vs. Kharma

Cody Rhodes vs. Big Show (possibly involving Shaq and/or Goldust too, so let's give them all a mention here)

WWE United States Championship
Jack Swagger (C) vs. Zack Ryder

Team Laurinatis vs. Team Long
Christian, Alberto Del Rio, Mark Henry, The Miz, Dolph Ziggler, David Otunga, and Kane vs. Rey Mysterio, Randy Orton, R-Truth, Kofi Kingston, Santino Marella, The Great Khali, and Mick Foley
NOTE: Wade Barrett appears on commentary as a pro-Laurinaitis supporter so that he can make an appearance on the show

28 Man WM28 Pre-Show Battle Royal
Alex Riley, Brodus Clay, Camacho, Curt Hawkins, Darren Young, Derrick Bateman, Drew McIntyre, Epico, Ezekiel Jackson, Heath Slater, Hunico, Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, Jinder Mahal, Johnny Curtis, JTG, Justin Gabriel, Mason Ryan, Michael McGillicutty, Percy Watson, Primo, Ted DiBiase, Titus O'Neil, Trent Barreta, Tyler Reks, Tyson Kidd, William Regal, and Yoshi Tatsu

I was actually just checking this out. This is just including actual bell to bell wrestling time, not entrances.

WrestleMania XXVII: 1hr 42min 50sec (Keep in mind, Rock had a long promo at the beginning which would normally be another 10 minutes for a match.)

WrestleMania XXVI: 1hr 52min 41sec

WrestleMania XXV: 1hr 52min 13sec

So if you make Rock's "host promo" another match, it's possible that each of the last 3 WrestleManias would have had exactly 1 hour and 52 minutes of in ring action. So that seems like a good guideline to go by.

Gonna adjust my card accordingly to reflect recent changes. Obviously the Swagger/Ryder US Title match isn't going to happen now since Swagger lost the belt. Instead, I could see Ryder and Eve going up against each other in a mixed tag match. Trish Stratus could make another random WM appearance as Ryder's partner...and for Eve I'd give her Ziggler as her partner because Ziggler's been Ryder's nemesis for most of the past year.

Swagger replaces Ziggler in the Long/Laurinaitis tag team match. Kane and Orton also are taken out of that and given a separate match.

So that bumps it up to a 9 match card, although frankly I could see the Divas Title match getting scrapped completely because the Divas Title has been given no attention and I'm not sure if Kharma is totally ready.

Here’s what’s happening so far:

John Cena vs. The Rock

Hell In A Cell
The Undertaker vs. Triple-H
Guest Referee: Shawn Michaels

WWE Championship
Chris Jericho vs. CM Punk

World Heavyweight Championship
Daniel Bryan vs. Sheamus

Intercontinental Championship
Big Show vs. Cody Rhodes

Looking at the way RAW was makes me think Kofi Kingston might be involved with Theodore Long’s team, which makes me think him and R-Truth will join Team Long, while seeing John Laurinaitis backing up Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger makes me think at least one of them could be part of his team. Here’s what I see:

Alberto Del Rio, Christian, Dolph Ziggler, & Mark Henry vs. Great Khali, Kofi Kingston, R-Truth, & Santino Marella

There’s still a couple of spots for Kane vs. Randy Orton and another match.

BRING BACK THE GIMMICK BATTLE ROYAL!

I was hoping they would do something bigger with Ziggler than to just be in the Long vs. Laurinaitis match, but it looks like that's where he'll be. I hope the focus is on him.

I'd really love to see Epico & Primo defend the WWE Tag Team Titles against R-Truth & Kofi Kingston as the WrestleMania opener this year, but I doubt that will happen. It seems likely to me that they're at least thinking about putting Kofi Kingston in the Team Long vs. Team Laurinaitis match.

Mick Foley being in the match is not entirely out of the question, either. It seems like the WWE could insert him in there to boost up the face side a bit. He'd join Kofi Kingston, Santino Marella, R-Truth and The Great Khali, I'd imagine. I would love for Drew McIntyre to be in the match, but I doubt he'll make it in. I see Team Ace being Alberto Del Rio, Christian, Dolph Ziggler, Jack Swagger & Mark Henry. It'd kind of make sense to have The Miz in there, too, I guess.

That Ziggler-Foley thing it seemed like they were going to build towards kinda petered out. Maybe they bring it to WM after all?

Here is what I'm thinking will be the final card:

John Cena vs. The Rock

WWE Championship
CM Punk (c) vs. Chris Jericho

Divas Championship
Beth Phoenix (c) vs. Kharma

Hell in a Cell
The Undertaker vs. Triple H
Special Guest Referee: Shawn Michaels

World Heavyweight Championship
Daniel Bryan (c) vs. Sheamus

Randy Orton vs. Kane

Team Laurinaitis vs. Team Long
Alberto Del Rio, Christian, Dolph Ziggler, Jack Swagger & Mark Henry vs. The Great Khali, Kofi Kingston, R-Truth, Rey Mysterio & Santino Marella

Intercontinental Championship
Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Big Show

I think that'll be the match order, too. You start with Show knocking Rhodes out and end with Cena making The Rock submit. Each match would be able to get the right amount of time it needs to tell its proper story.
