I thought about this too. The only logical conclusion I came to was that everyone was already there for the three hour raw except inactive wrestlers, etc. If, and that's a big if, we have another benoit tribute, I would think the other guys would record something then.

Well I doubt Rey was at the event and they couldn't get a camera crew to Rey in that short of a time.

Plus Punk was probably the guy who looked up to Benoit the most out of all of the young guys in ECW and they needed someone from the current ECW to talk.

Can someone let me know what HHH said? I missed a good portion of the show because after finding out the news I went to a friends show to watch the rest, and the power actually went out for a while.

any links to the interviews, or just some run downs of the Chavo, Malenko, Edge and HHH interviews...I'd appreciate it.

This is bizzare that all of a sudden the guy i've rooted for, for years is not such a great guy after all. There has to be more to this story. There has to be something that the wrestlers were aware of that built to this moment. This didnt just happen. I truely doubt this was roid rage. Judging by some of the comments last night like Regals. It seems to me that maybe Benoit wasnt a good guy and everyone around him knew it but we didnt. Who knows. This is nuts. I've actually gotten over the initial shock of my favorite wrestler being dead and now i'm really curious what the fuck happend and what led to this.

Yeh, I'm past my initial disbelief and shock. I want to know what happened. Because, at this point, it really seems that he did it. And he probably did. But why. Murder-suicides are not random acts of violence. I hope they wrap up the investigation ASAP and get the information out.

I know. I feel bad for everyone right now. If what seems to the glaring truth is indeed true, Chris Benoit himself is the person I have the least emotion for. Even still the whole thing is just so sad. Like I said, so far the only sure victim in all of this is the young child and those who knew the family. Only time and revelation will explain what went on with Benoit and Nancy, but right now you have three dead people. One of whom definitely committed at least one murder and a suicide and likely killed his own child, and another who may have killed a child if it wasn't Benoit.

Yeh, they found the bodies about 2:30 and had to go on air at 5:00 (in my time zone, pacific)

Just because he was only on the same show for 2 weeks, didn't mean he didn't know him longer. He's been in the same business for years, and in the same promotion for 2 years.
CM Punk was a friend of Eddie Guerrero, so I don't see why he couldn't be a friend of Benoit.
There's more to the wrestling business than just what show you're on, guys know eachother who aren't even in the same promotion.

I don't know when this went online. This is how I found out...

Okay, I missed the very begining of Raw because me and my fiance we're watching True Lies. At 5:00 I told her to switch over to Raw (she actually watches too) and she said "We're not missing anything, you know they're just showing the limo explosion again". So we sat there for about 10 minutes and watched more of the movie. Then we flipped to Raw and caught a flash of the screen showing his picture and 1967-2007 on the screen as it went to comercial. My first thought was, "WTF? They just gonna start killing off the whole roster now? This is so stupid. I don't even want to watch this shit."

We have DVR with Dish Network, and out of curiosity I went and restarted the show and then said "Holy shit..."

So, what now, are they going to delete him from history? That's pretty stupid. Hopefully they just want to rewrite everything involving him so that it doesn't seem like they're giving him too much praise.

I don't think they should edit him out of everything. Take down his merchandise though (T shirts and crap, maybe even dvd's exclusive to him) and I wouldn't hold any tribute shows after this. No "Benoit" armbands for everybody.

Well if you remember when he left WWE, it was due to nagging injuries, plus the weight problem is always there for him. I know he wasn't a mainstream choice for a death watch candidate, but I always saw him that way. Big oversized guys, overwieght (for their size) or not, have a tendency to have heart attacks and stuff if they're active.
