He never got a chance to sell himself on SmackDown during his entire main roster career, which was spent exclusively on SmackDown. His one singles push took place entirely on Velocity. The rest of the time was spent in a tag team with Danny Basham, another solid talent that Doug helped develop. Their job was pretty much to enhance who they were in the ring with. Basham also innovated the Last Impression, which is still used as a finish in the WWE today, but the half-as-charismatic Zack Ryder. It would have been interesting to see what would have happened if Doug Basham had been given an Intercontinental Title run on RAW -- since it is the workrate title.
