The typhoon stuff was the reason NJPW gave since it happened too close to the date of their King of Pro Wrestling event and neither Moxley nor Zack Sabre Jr. were able to travel to Japan in time for the show because of travel issues with its aftermath.

Them stripping the belt was also due to them being unsure if Moxley would be able to compete at Wrestle Kingdom 14 or any events leading up to it due to his AEW commitments and didn't want to delay their WK plans for the US belt at the time.

The coornavirus stuff is different because NJPW announced early into it that no title stripping would be happening to any of their champs because of the pandemic. Plus they were not going to do back-to-back title stripping for Moxley since the last time they did it, it didn't really benefit Lance Archer nor Juice Robinson.
