They're 2-2, with a loss in the division to the Texans who are 3-1. The Titans are also 2-2 but wildly inconsistent. There's a solid shot they might not even make the playoffs *GASP SHOCK HORROR*

Look at it this way, at least 1 wild card in the AFC is definitely coming out of the AFC East between Miami/New England/NY Jets, possibly even both of them. The AFC North has a strong shot at the other Wild Card between Pittsburgh and Baltimore, whoever doesn't win the division. So the Colts would have to likely win the division, which they are already at a slight disadvantage for given they lost to the Texans.

And you could add that the superbowl loser of the prior year has a history of doing bad the following year.
