Yeah, I have quite a few PSP titles still on my list of games to acquire. Pretty sad that it took this long for the PSP's library to justify the price.

Just got Peace Walker, Persona 3, SNK Arcade Classics and BlazBlue right now, but with Yakuza and Kingdom Hearts soon, it's finally made me put down my DS for a bit handheld wise.

But you're right, I sold my old one over 2 years ago and on that gap, there's been nothing I really want. The 2000 models are a hell of a lot lighter than I remember my 1000 as well at least.

THQ has another WWE game on the way, joining its WWE Smackdown vs. Raw series and the new WWE All Stars (pictured). According to THQ's Danny Bilson, the new WWE "extension" shares All Stars' focus on accessibility over Smackdown vs. Raw's detailed ... simulation of simulated wrestling.

"Next year you'll see another new extension [of the WWE license]," Bilson told CVG, "that's just as exciting as All Stars, but a little different. We're not talking about that yet." He said that the plan was to release a WWE game every six months (presumably for many years to come), alternating between Smackdown vs. Raw, All Stars and this new series -- the latter two being "more friendly, easier and less simmy than Smackdown vs. Raw." There's a fourth franchise too, WWE Smackdown Vs. Raw Online, but that's intended solely for the Asian market.

If you're thinking that the "new" series will feature WWE wrestlers driving in cars and shooting at each other -- THQ tried that one already. Our wild guess: the new game's gonna really Kinect players to the Moves.

I guess it means no chance at a new Legends of Wrestlemania game since the 1st one had great potential (especially with the Rumble) but "meh" in terms of gameplay controls or depth.

In regard to a recent issue with somebody's phone browser, larger high resolution pics should be under nsfw tags. I'm a constant offender and I already went to work on a few of my recent visual posts.

Actually, it does.

Clicking the "show" link on a spoiler or nsfw tag boots my phone browser to the top of the page and I have to scroll down again. Right pain in the arse so I never bother clicking them.

Light gun games haven't quite gone the way of the dodo, but I've generally considered them to only be worth playing for a few minutes at an arcade (before I get tired of them). But with the launch of PlayStation Move this September, they may be poised for a comeback. Namco Bandai is doing their part, packaging ports of the arcade versions of three light gun games -- Time Crisis: Razing Storm, Time Crisis 4 (2007), and Deadstorm Pirates -- and releasing the bundle as Time Crisis: Razing Storm in North America this fall.



I got to check out Razing Storm on Move at a Sony press event in New York last week. I played by myself for a while, and then tried out same-screen co-op with a Namco Bandai representative. I can confirm that it is an on-rails light gun game where you shoot many, many people and robots. But I was surprised by how much I actually enjoyed it, and I think that the amount of fun I had was tied to PlayStation Move.

If you're not pressing any buttons, you'll be behind an impenetrable metal shield. Holding the Move button will have you pop out from behind the shield, ready to fire with the trigger. Instead of "firing" off the screen to reload, you'll automatically do so when you re-enter cover. Razing Storm is the first Time Crisis game with destructible environments, and while it isn't exactly Red Faction: Guerrilla-level destructibility, it's still fun to take out some scaffolding and watch the enemies who were standing on it collapse in a heap on the floor. A second player can hop in at any time, and that brings in the wonderful cooperative-yet-competitive element of "my friend and I are kicking ass together, but I'm going to kick more ass than him."



Move matters here because of its accuracy, the benefits of which were palpable. I've often found the targeting in light gun games to be finicky, but I had no trouble racking up headshots in Razing Storm. That was Arcade Mode, but Razing Storm also includes a single-player Story Mode that plays like an FPS -- you have freedom of movement around the stages. Here, you'll play with the Move Navigation Controller in your left hand and the wand in your right; flicking the wand upward (i.e., away from the screen) will put you into cover. (I didn't get a chance to see the Story Mode.) You'll also use the FPS controls in the eight-player Online Battle Mode, which features shooter standards such as deathmatch.



All three games in the bundle will be playable with PlayStation Move (and the optional Move Shooting Attachment), the Guncon 3 (which came with the PS3 version of Time Crisis 4), or a regular PlayStation 3 controller. Time Crisis 4 and Deadstorm Pirates will feature online leaderboards, although I presume you'll be stuck with using your PSN name instead of a clever arcade-cabinet standby such as "ASS" or "FUK." Pricing is yet to be determined, but the bundle will be available right around the launch of PlayStation Move. Depending on the cost, it could be worth picking up for some mindless shooting fun.

The trade-off of having Jam on the Xbox 360 and PS3 is the game will be online playable but looses out on the Remix Mode (games vs Legends) and offline multiplayer. The only other negative piece is since the game is activated by a code pass, a used copy won't have the game for free.

Electronic Arts' experiment to dissuade users from buying used games seems to be working, at least initially, for two of its sports games released this year.

The publisher noted during its Q1 fiscal earnings call this afternoon that the number of online customers who played Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 and NCAA Football 11 and redeemed the Online Pass reached over 60 percent.

"We are pleased to see 60 to 70 percent of online connected users redeeming the code," said COO John Schappert. "The level of online play amongst our user base is up from last year, and revenue from paid downloadable content is also up."

EA plans to incorporate the Online Pass, a one-time use code, with the majority of its sports titles going forward. All games purchased new come with the pass, however, if purchased used or if the code has already been entered, users much then purchase a pass for $10 to gain access to multiplayer features.

EA says, for right now, it's still too early to tell how the Online Pass has affected revenue from new and used sales.

"It's too early to tell," Schappert added. "What we are encouraged by is we are seeing more people play online on both of those titles, so it's certainly is not holding them back."

"We think the extra gift, if you will, when you activate your online pass is driving some of that adoption."
I imagine EA and Activision laughs when the stats make mockery of the loud detractors to their controversial decisions.
