Is there a set definition for "shoto"? I've heard the term around when I visit places like Gamefaqs.
I thought it applied to characters based on the way Ken/Ryu play. They have a projectile performed by down-to-forward-punch. They have a rising upper cut preformed by forward-to-down-to-forward-punch and a horizontal traveling kick performed by down-to-back-kick. If I was going by that, that would mean Ken, Ryu, Dan, Sakura and Sagat would be classified as "shotos". Gouken is like an inverted "shoto". The inputs are the same but his upper cut is horizontal and his kick is vertical which is the opposite to how the others do it. That means 5 or 6 is you still count Gouken are "shoto". The game has: 6 "shotos" 8 charging 3 grapplers 17 miscellaneous Clearly, we need more grapple characters to even out the selection a bit more. Hugo is pretty likely and so is R.Mika so that should bring the grapple count up to a decent number. I just don't want any more "shots" personally and Charge characters are no fun for me to play as personally. I want grapplers or misc. Speaking of Hugo, Ono is mentioning Poison a fair bit. He apparantly did the same with Yun & Yang before they were made to obviously be the first two. Here (Eventhubs). I was thinking, maybe DLC will be packs of 2. Yun & Yang Hugo & Poison R. Mika & Rolento (Alpha themed DLC) |
