There is a political narrative throughout the civilized world that Islam is a religion of peace and not a backward violent death cult aimed at the obliteration of gays, Jews, and atheists. Crimes committed by these theocratic states often go ignored by nightly news and political comedy shows. It's politically correct to ignore the atrocities committed in the name of Islam and instead to drone on and on about, "Not all Muslims" when ever something terrible happens.
