Rate The Game: Week 1 (???)

Yeah, I put the question marks there because I'm hoping this can be like a weekly thing I do and can be a sticky. I've taken the liberty of writing down 50 of the most famous (or infamous) games. and placing them in a canister. I shall pull one out at random each week and thus it will be the subject of that particular poll. The idea is to rate it on a scale of 1 to 5 or a zero if you've never played it. If everyone's cool with it and it becomes popular I'll continue doing it obviously. Bear in mind I tried not to do too many sequels as they tend to just be an extension of the last games (Tekken, Mega Man, Resident Evil, etc.) but I've made exceptions where they've been stellar (Mortal Kombat 2, Street Fighter 2, etc.)

OK, so I pulled one out already (actually since last night. I just haven't bothered until now) and the game in question for this poll is....

Silent Hill (PlayStation)

Brief Gaming Info:
Silent Hill was released in 1999 for the Playstation console. Borrowing several aspects from other horror games (most notably Resident Evil), Silent Hill told the story of Harry Mason, a run-of-the-mill American man who crashes his car alongside his daughter during a trip. Harry finds himself stranded in the strange town of Silent Hill with his daughter missing. With monsters chasing him and darkness ever present, Harry is charged with the task of discovering the mystery behind the town and rescuing his daughter. Silent Hill's gameplay used a lot of Resident Evil elements, most notably the inventory system and more emphasis on puzzle solving than blowing away evil creatures of the dark. It was mainly a story based game.

So, how about it? Rate this game as honestly as you can. Consider graphics, gameplay, atmosphere, and general fun factor. Happy voting.

Until next week???

No matter what may happen to me, just remember Lzzy Hale gave me the bedroom eyes...

...again.

I remember playing a demo for the first game a long time ago and enjoying it, it had a great creepy atmosphere, and I remember really getting into it and being scared, so I bought that when it came out and beat it. But I haven't really cared for them since then, I sort of grew out of the survival horror genre, I guess.

I thought this game was a little weak. I couldn't help but think how much I woul rather be playing Resident Evil when played this. It really just didn't grab me. 2.

I thought it was awesome.

First game to ever freak me out (actually had to put the game away for a bit after the first alleyway part), and I loved the gameplay and story. Plus it was responsible for SH 3 and 4.

I give it a 4 out of 5, only losing a point for the randomness of it sometimes (which isn't even THAT bad, and adds to the story).

I tryed playing it, gaming stand point it looks alright, but likely one of the most boring two hours I have spent playing a game.

While good, I always felt it could be better. The thumping controller was a neat touch though. And the movie was sweet.
