The WWE RAW After Mania Live from Bizzaro Land Thread
So, Mania is in the books, and well received. We’re expecting this to be the first proper post-Mania Raw for a couple of years.

What are we expecting to see?

Roman appearance. Cody promo. Cody challenging Roman? Bayley return?

What call ups are we expecting? There’s so many I could see making the move up this week; LA Knight, Legado Del Fantasma, Bron Breakker, Carmelo Hayes. Ciampa “official” call up? Time for Io to move? I expected Gonzalez and/or Kai but with them winning the NXT Womens Tag titles…

Really hope they capitalise on Mania and keep the momentum going.

Likewise with them keeping the momentum going.

Veer is supposed to be making his debut. Cedric Alexander, Shelton Benjamin or Robert Roode jump out as opponents for him.

I think Cody will keep his feud going with Seth. When it comes to Roman, I’m going with either Bobby Lashley or Drew as his next guy. Probably Lashley.

Really want AJ Styles & Finn Balor to team up to face this Edge/Damian Priest alliance. Throw RK-Bro into that mix.

I think Bayley and Asuka will be back, but don’t necessarily have a strong feeling about Raw or SmackDown. Bron Breakker and Io Shirai being called up this week makes sense. Gunther would not surprise me either — maybe even with Imperium.

I knew there was another female in the back of my mind. Asuka.

And yeah, came back to say Priest/Edge vs. Styles/Balor, not sure how the US title would play into that unless leads to Priest regaining it. I’d probably keep RKOBro out of this though.

Also agree on Lashley and Drew being setup well to go after Roman with handing Omos his first loss and being the only man to kick out of End of Days respectively. I’d also be happy with Roman sitting out (WrestleMania) Backlash for storyline purposes.

Imperium is an odd one. They’ve not been together in NXT full time for all that long but don’t feel like a good fit for the brand anymore and they just dropped the tag belts.

There’s so many options to play with it’s actually exciting/interesting, whether they can keep all of these parts moving if they do bring a bunch in is the thing that dampens my excitement.

A lot of people are expecting this thing with Edge and Priest to be a faction. In time, sure, but let us just get a Styles & Balor team for a minute, please. Let it play out.

I’ve seen a few names bandied about. One I’ll throw out there is actually Brock Lesnar. If Edge’s whole thing is that he is going after lost souls/frustrated individuals — him getting Brock would be pretty epic. Especially if it led to tags where the entire babyface roster teams up to stop them.

Never happen. But it would just be a volume all the way up to 11 way of doing things.

Me too actually! I had to think about it.

I’d be surprised if Brock doesn’t take some time away, but if he does hang around I’d keep him quite close to this character he has now, it’s the most interesting he’s been in years.

I could see them adding Liv and Rhea to Edge as they’d fit the aesthetic and it’d be a little against the grain to have two females in a faction but I don’t think they need it. I think you’re right about them adding to it slowly, no need to rush it.

Based on the post-match staredown and stuff, I'd expect Becky/Ronda to be one of those automatic rematches at Backlash.

Do you mean Becky/Bianca? They scrapped the automatic rematch thing a few years ago. They still do the odd direct rematch though so entirely plausible.

If they are going to keep Reigns "Unified Champion" I'd be interested in a triple threat with Reigns vs Lashley vs McIntyre at Wrestlemania Backlash to capitalize on their wins over Corbin and Omos at Mania.

I really like the idea of Priest and Edge going for RKBro for the next few months.

AJ and Seth could work a program as well.

Asuka returning to start a program with Becky would be good and you could have Bianca work with Alexa or someone else they want to shine up a bit.

Actually, id like to see Asuka return to start a program with Bianca. Thats not a match up we've seen and the match would be stellar.

Id bring Bayley back against Becky.

They said the titles were unified into the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship but both titles are listed as separate on the website with the picture being Roman holding both. I'd guess he carries both belts around for a while, finally gets beaten only for Heyman to reveal fine print in the contract that it was the WWE title only, therefore splitting the belts again and keeping his Universal title run going.

There's no actual need for two World champions. The main reason they ever did it was for periods of time where they actually kept Raw and SmackDown completely separate including their own house shows and PPVs. But those days have been over for a while. Even when they still had split brand house shows, Lesnar was never defending the title on the Raw shows. So one World title is fine, but WWE can't help but default to excess so expect them to be split again soon enough.

I wouldn’t put too much stock in the website, they had Cesaro still listed on SmackDown until a few days ago.

And yeah, one champ over both shows works for me. There’s a few storyline things you can run with that. I’ve always liked the idea of a Lesnar or Roman being like this omnipotent Shao Khan type deal, like an overload watching all the mortals fight it out amongst themselves just for a shot at them. They come down from their “mountain” to put the mortal back in their place and remind the other mortals who they are.

Especially in time for SURVIVOR SERIES: THE ONE TIME OF THE YEAR WHERE EACH SHOW VIYES FOR SUPREMACY or whatever that shitty tagline is where they suddenly remember they the rosters were supposed to be split and strictly adhere to that... except where a feud gets in the way and then they magically forget again after the PPV is over.

Again, I personally have no problem with two world champs in and of itself, but the fucking company can't be assed to actually follow through with it on a regular basis.

They'll split again, and then overfocus on one while minimizing the other until they put that belt on someone they decide to push to the moon but let the original focused belt suffer for it.

You know: normal WWE shit.

Just make the US and IC titles the main brand-specific titles and let the world champion float between brands. That’s how it should have been for the past 20 years.

It shouldn’t be that hard to not make the convoluted mess of titles they’ve created.

WWE needs to build some faces up. If they are doing Rock/Reigns at WM39, then he's going to have a reign that lasts until WM40. You can't have him drop it at some schmuck PPV at this point. It has to be a watershed/pass the torch to the next face of the company at WrestleMania type deal. Whoever goes over Roman and ends this reign should be a made man.

I still can't believe how WWE has completely bungled so many potential main event babyfaces, but alas here we are.

I think Charlotte & Becky rematch with a gimmick, probably I Quit or Submission.

I don't know if AJ will take time off or continue with Edge, but he'd need a buddy on his side because of Damien Priest.

I think Fignuts idea of Bailey against Becky and Asuka with Bianca would be good.

Twitter doctors saying Roman's tricep is almost certainly torn based on the bruising. Generally takes 4-6 months of time to heal.

Sucks if it’s true about Roman. But it’s not the end of the world:

* The story that Roman went so far to win only for that to be his end has got a poetic justice element to it. Gives Roman “somewhere else to go.”

* They could just have Roman put an “embargo” on WWE now that he’s the biggest star in the world and they need to find suitable challengers for him.

I hope Cody gets a massive reaction tonight. Really happy for him. For me the move back to WWE is about the same thing he left the company 6 years earlier: he wants to be a top guy. The only place he can do that is WWE. They didn’t see it on him at the time so he went elsewhere to prove himself. If he was the centre of the AEW universe and it’s champion it’d always be tinged with him booking himself into the position. If he’s successful as a top guy in WWE it’s on merit.

To see him bet on himself and be able to come back to WWE as himself, with all his iconography, music, etc. was great.
