If they wanna make a FPS 007 game called GoldenEye they can actually do that legally, but this talk of retelling the cinematic story of GoldenEye (which I assumed was Rare's exclusive right even after all these years), and recreating the campaign/multiplayer maps is what confuses me.
I can't comment on the exact dealings between Rare, Nintendo, and MGM - but I can say Activision's straight-up biting a legacy they had nothing to do with. It's weak sauce even if they're allowed to do it, and pretty much a paycheck job so they can put their Bond license to use this year.
Or they could actually update a great game on a console starved of great 3rd party games and deliver something cool.
