There was a point in time that both of these cabinets were at a local skating rink. They were the only two machines you could actively hear over the DJ booth music while playing them.
The makers of the original Killer Instinct arcade game pulled a mean little trick in regards to the sound. The normal audio would be fairly low which would force the arcade operators to change the volume settings. The catch was that they had made the voice that shouts out the combos way louder than anything else in the game so any arcade that had the game would have this bombardment of noise which drew attention to the machine because it was so damn loud.
