WWE Raw – June 14, 2010
Unfavorable Odds

WWE Champion John Cena got a firsthand reminder that he doesn’t even need to be pinned to lose his title on Sunday. In addition, the final four competitors in the United States Title tournament were decided as well as the announcement being made that a new general manager of Raw would be named next week.

United States Title Tournament Match: R-Truth def. William Regal
Fan-favorite R-Truth advances in the tournament despite a very solid effort from William Regal (and Vladimir Kozlov at ringside). His celebration got cut short when Regal and Kozlov both pounced on him. That didn’t last long as Mark Henry came out and got some retribution on Regal and Kozlov for cheating him out of his tournament match on Superstars last Thursday.

United States Title Tournament Match: Chris Jericho def. David Hart Smith
It should be no surprise that Jericho successfully found a way to cheat in a match yet again. One week after winning unfairly against Tyson Kidd, Jericho managed to do the same to Kidd’s partner, David Hart Smith. Jericho had to hightail it out of the ring quickly as Kidd rushed out to his partner’s aid.

Bizarre tag team main event announced, new General Manager next week
Raw announcer Jerry “The King” Lawler got a tidbit of information in his earpiece that he couldn’t hold back. He announced to the world that there is a new General Manager of Raw, and he will be revealed next week. Furthermore, he’s shaking things up tonight by pitting enemies against each other in tag teams – it’ll be Edge and Randy Orton against John Cena and Sheamus!

Natalya def. Alicia Fox
Natalya turned a bad night for The Hart Dynasty into a moderate success with an impressive victory over Alicia Fox. Divas champion Maryse looked on from ringside, one has to think Natalya is in line for a title shot in the very near future.

United States Title Tournament Match: John Morrison def. Zack Ryder
Although he’s won matches on Superstars since joining the Raw brand, the Long Island Loudmouth still has yet to win a match on Monday Night Raw. That wait will have to continue, as his best efforts weren’t enough to keep John Morrison from advancing. Starship Pain never fails to get the job done, and tonight was no exception.

The Miz has some choice words for Bryan Danielson
The Miz cut a promo from backstage, citing that if he went into the arena the cowardly Bryan Danielson would attack him from the crowd again. Miz vowed to give Danielson a taste of his own medicine in their unsanctioned match at Fatal Four Way.

United States Title Tournament Match: Ted DiBiase def. Evan Bourne
DiBiase may soon be able to trade in his Million Dollar belt for real gold after advancing in the tournament over a very game Evan Bourne. Not long after the match ended via Dream Street, R-Truth emerged on the rampway with a microphone, congratulating Ted on advancing and stating that he hopes to see him in the finals, so he can beat him once again live on PPV.

John Cena & Sheamus def. Edge & Randy Orton
The main event tag team bout felt eerily similar to last week’s main event. Neither team could co-exist, and eventually all four men brawled in the ring. With Orton and Sheamus as the legal men, Edge attempted to intervene only for John Cena to cut him off, hoisting him up for an Attitude Adjustment. Cena then got met with an RKO right after. Lastly, Sheamus connected with a Bicycle Kick to the face of Orton as Sheamus picked up the victory for his team. As the Celtic Warrior posed in celebration, it bares repeating that if this same thing happens on Sunday, John Cena will lose his title belt without even getting pinned. Can the champ survive? Order Fatal Four Way to find out!
