WWE Superstars – June 10, 2010
Thursday Night Delight

The weekly interbrand show saw some exciting tag team action from the SmackDown brand, as well as the final three first-round matches in the WWE United States championship tournament.

Joey Mercury & Luke Gallows def. JTG & MVP
The power of straight edge was flowing through CM Punk’s disciples on this night as they showed great chemistry in picking up a win over fan-favorites JTG and MVP. Joey Mercury scored the pinfall victory in his first match back following a double underhook DDT on JTG.

United States Title Tournament Match: Zack Ryder def. Santino Marella
Santino’s boasting on the microphone prior to the match certainly did him no favors, as the Long Island Loudmouth looked more fired up than ever. Ryder made relatively quick work of Santino, finishing him off with the Zack Attack to advance. Woo woo woo, you know it.

United States Title Tournament Match: William Regal def. Mark Henry
Regal certainly appeared unhappy that he was drawn to face The World’s Strongest Man in the tournament. For that reason, using cheap tactics must have been even more paramount, as Regal utilized brass knuckles to pick up the victory and move on in the tournament following a ringside distraction from Regal’s associate Vladimir Kozlov.

United States Title Tournament Match: John Morrison def. Primo
On this night Morrison truly was the Thursday Night Delight, electrifying the crowd in his win over Primo. Primo put up a good showing but appeared to get frustrated after a series of nearfalls, which allowed Morrison to capitalize with the Moonlight Drive. For good measure, Morrison finished it off with the Starship Pain to complete the first round of the tournament. The quarter-finals will continue on next week live on Raw!
