FINALLY...BIG VITO 22...HAS COME BACK...TO HIS EWR GAME.

Aaaaaand I got welcomed back rather harshly with a non-clicking show. However, the overall rating for it wound up being like 1% lower than the previous week. I guess that means if you ignore the non-clickiness it would have been a kickass show. Ah well.

WWE Raw – July 19, 2010

Edge bragged about his successful title defense against John Cena last night. Randy Orton comes out to remind him that because he won the Raw MITB contract, he can cash it in whenever he wants within a year. WrestleMania, SummerSlam, or even right now! Edge freaks out but Orton tells him he’s going to bide his time, but he’d better watch out. Shawn Michaels tells Edge that he will learn who the number 1 contender for the WWE Title is by the end of the night.

Back to the WWE World Cup as two losers from last night’s Raw MITB: John Morrison and Zack Ryder, face off in a Group B match. Very athletic contest here that sees Morrison pick up the win after the Starship Pain. Morrison moves to 2-0 in the competition while Ryder goes to 1-1.

Our next match was SUPPOSED to be the new Unified Tag Team champions Chris Jericho and Wade Barrett facing off in a Group A match. Instead, both men refused to give the fans the satisfaction of seeing them fight. Even if they decided not to compete, they’d still both have the top 2 records in the group. With that, they walked off together to huge heat in a double count out. Both men’s records are now 1-0-1.

Group D action up next as David Hart Smith faces United States champion Ted DiBiase. Smith seems to overpower DiBiase most of the match, clearly livid over losing the Tag Team Titles the night before. DiBiase motions to his henchmen Michael Tarver and Mark Henry at ringside, and on cue both men attack Tyson Kidd. This distracts Smith and allows DiBiase to get the win with a cheap roll-up. DiBiase is now 2-0, Smith is 1-1.

The battered Hart Dynasty stay out there to support Natalya as she gets her WWE Divas title shot against Maryse. Maryse’s attempts to cheat are to no avail as Natalya outclasses her in terms of skill. Natalya eventually locks on the Sharpshooter and wins the Divas Title! The Hart Dynasty parade Natalya around the ring in celebration.

Shawn Michaels informs Barrett and Jericho (Barretcho?) that The Hart Dynasty have decided to exercise their rematch clause next week on Raw! Barrett protests, saying he is already booked for a World Cup match next week. HBK is all like “tough shit” as Barrett is left fuming.

John Cena wins a random squash match against Vladimir Kozlov via the STF. Cena says that he may have failed last night, and that he isn’t too sure what the future holds. But rest assured, sooner or later the champ will be here!

World Cup action wraps up for the night with a Group C match between The Miz and R-Truth. This was pretty much a back-and-forth affair that sees The Miz pick up an impressively clean win via the Skull Crushing Finale. Miz is now 2-0, Truth is 1-1.

Big tag team main event that sees Randy Orton and Triple H team up against Sheamus and WWE Champion Edge. It’s a formulaic tag match, not unlike every other tag match in the past decade. But the crowd loves it, so whatev. Flurry of finishers inbound! Orton ducks a brogue kick and RKO’s Sheamus. Edge spears Orton. Triple H Pedigrees Edge and both guys were the legal men, so Triple H gets the pinfall victory.

Shawn Michaels appears on the titan tron. He admires Triple H’s recovery from his assault at the hands of Sheamus several months ago. Now that he’s proven himself to be 100% and better than ever, it’s also time he deserves a title shot. Triple H, Edge, WWE Title, SummerSlam!
