Epic Games is doing a special promotion for Gears of War 3 where if you've bought and played previous games released by Epic on the Xbox 360, special goodies and content gets unlocked as a gift for Gears of War 3.

Gears of War man Cliff Bleszinski wrote on Twitter today that fans should "Look for special unlocks in Gears 3 for those of you who have played other Epic games such as Shadow Complex, UT3, Gears, and Bulletstorm," a teaser for next fall's entry in the third-person shooter series.

It is expected either to be stuff for avatars, multiplayer skins/characters, or weapons similar to pre-ordering most shooters from stores.

In other news, another remake/HD-enhanced collection is arriving to the PS3 next year from Ubisoft and this time its from the Splinter Cell series. The original trilogy is being ported with extras including trophy support and HD-graphics.
This collection will be based off of the PS2/Gamecube set of games and not the Xbox/PC set.
