Well IF it had to be one or the other, Everton can go fuck themselves.
Whoever wins the Champions League next season will always wonder if they'd have done it if the Champions of Europe were there defending their crown. It would seriously devalue the competition, if Everton got to the quarters and played us and we won, I'd be happy, sure, but I'd still wonder if we'd be in the semi's if it was Liverpool we had to face. It takes something away from the competition, like we both say, Liverpool will be allowed in, just IF they weren't, it'd be in UEFA's interests to let the scouse in.
I don't think you can take it away from Everton, but then you can't from Liverpool either, UEFA have fucked up and must act very quickly.
If there is going to be any play-off at all between Liverpool and another team, it should be Liverpool and Everton. They should battle out against each other for the last English spot.
