AND, I should add this as I thought about it just after I posted
The fact that Carragher has had such a phenomenally good season, and is probably not going on this tour is a real shame. Even though the tour is practically meaningless, it would've given Sven a chance to have a real look at the 2nd best defender in the country this season.
On the Glazer issue, I don't think it'll be as bad news for some Premiership clubs as some think. I realise that Glazer will probably want to scrub the Sky deal, but I don't think it'll have as huge effect. If anything, it'll do the lower placed clubs better, because United are on TV more than any other team, so the games that United would've been in will be spread around to other teams, which will allow teams to get more sponsorship and slightly more TV money. In theory. Of course the other theory is that if United pull out, sides with big support like Liverpool and Newcastle will do the same, have there own TV channels, make a lot of money, and cripple the smaller clubs.
At the end of the day though, United have paid the price for floating on the stock exchange. Glazer has, regardless of the ethics of a football club, done what any good businessman can do, and while its sad (for United fans at least) that this situation has arisen, it had to be expected that someone would use the stock exchange for their own devices in a football club, one day.
