Johnson and Downing deserved their call-ups. Both have been outstanding for a while. Downing since he broke into the Boro' line up and Johnson for the last two seasons. The fact that Johnson has scored 15 goals in a Crystal Palace team fighting not to get relegated is outstanding.
Sven once again showed that he is a dick, fair play to Marco Van Basten for trying new players in friendlies and giving them a proper run out. Johnson and Downing should have been given more time on the pitch and Johnson was played out of position when he came on. You could see the frustration on his face towards the end. Just as long as crappy Vassel isn't given another call-up then all is well.
