When United asked the F.A for the reasoning behind the lengthy ban of Rio they said that it was that United never stuck to the same story, no one accepted blame for him missing the test. There were two people who were blamed for not making sure Rio had the test, but both passed the blame onto each other and made it sound like it wasn't their problem.
Mutu is already in rehab, my guess is six months, and I have a feeling that we will see him put on a Chelsea shirt again. Bates wouldn't take this kind of shit from anyone, not that Mourinho will, but no one will buy him now and I can't see Roman sacking him. My guess is he gets a huge pay cut whilst in rehab, when he is done in rehab he finishes his ban (or if it is finished he returns to the team) and they increase his pay but not to what it was before, and then they randomly test him for drugs and after a certain amount of time if he is clean, then give him his old wage back.
And Shawshank, when I said that he should be banned for as long as Bosnich but longer then Ferdinand, and said that they both got nine months, my point was that the rules would be very inconsistant if he wasn't banned for the nine months, although as he has now accepted he did drugs and not had a econd sample, things are very much different.
