There are quite a few endings. I can't remember the total amount but they heavily depend on what you do in your play through.

The "ultimate" ending is on a NG+ when you fight Lavos 1v1 with Chrono at the festival early in the game. Less than an hour play through I think?

There are ones that revolve around what you do with Magus. I believe you can choose to kill him with Frog at one point, rather than take him along.

Lotsa choices. Lotsa endings.

Oh yeah, and when you get time travel freely open, be sure to open chests in 1000 AD before 600 AD. If you open them in 600, they will already be gone in 1000.... because you opened them.
