Being fair - I mean absolutely fair with minimal sarcasm - that's one of the *good* things about WWE's penchant for renaming folks. There legit may be a gap between people remembering that shit and knowing it is Mistico.

Whilst still being fair, a good bit of his bullshit failings may fall to that stupid "mood lighting" for all his matches.

One of the most "fedbad" things they do is rarely ever take blame for nonsensically bad ideas; be it death gimmicks, head scratching angles, or that ill conceived ACH shirt. Either the person goes along with it and eats shit, or they don't, which paints the person refusing as having "an attitude problem".

I don't know how much of his botching was due to having a full face-obscuring mask on top of darkening the arena for all of his matches of if he was just Eva Marie with a penis... but if anyone recalls, when they shifted to the new Sin Cara, that mood lighting shit eventually went away because it was prob'ly fucking with him, too.

Not saying he might not be as bad as some fans might remember, nor that he might have some sort of stick up his ass, but what I am saying is that there is a chance that that it wasn't exactly 100% on him to end up that way.

Which company?

Seriously. I ask because although AEW has been doing this lately with full force with any jackass in a lucha mask, WWE has been on this long-standing, off-and-on campaign to either anoint or create from whole cloth a "new" Rey Mysterio for decades and make some sort of financial push into South America with homegrown talent from beneath the equator.
