* Square Enix announced they will be merging with Luminous Productions, developer of Forspoken, this May. It was also announced that this merger is part of their current medium term plans for the company and to help boost Square's portfolio and production of AAA tier games.

* According to a report from Kotaku, Ubisoft's Montpelier studio is currently dealing with serious workplace related issues. These issues reportedly revolve around overworked employees causing them to take extended periods of time to recuperate and also led to the managing director Guillaume Carmona recently leaving the company. Besides internal workplace issues, the studio is also currently under investigation by French government body Inspection du Travail (Labor Inspection) over possible violations of French Labor laws. For some reference, this studio is the developer of long delayed Beyond Good & Evil 2 game.

* For those interested, Universal Studios announced that they have pushed up the release date for their upcoming The Super Mario Bros. Movie from its previously scheduled date of April 7th to a new date of April 5th.
