There's a billion things you can do with an MJF title run and time shouldn't be a concern because I suspect he's going to hold the title for at least a year. Even if he's booked as a face at the beginning of his run, I fully expect that by this time next year MJF will be back to being the biggest heel in the company and continually threatening to walk out the door with the title.
He's flatly denied the rumors that he's secretly signed an extension. I mean, in sports there are deals reported as extensions but really it's just the team ripping up an old contract and replacing it with a brand new, more lucrative long-term deal. Maybe this is actually what happened, maybe it isn't. It's not like MJF is going to say anything either way, and the company won't either since there's meat on the bone to make an angle of the "bidding war of 2024".
