It sounds like xeno may not be for you honestly. I played xbc1 after xbc2 when it dropped on the switch so its hard for me to say how id had taken it as a stand alone title. 2 hooked me not 1.

That said xenoblade 1-3 concludes the xenogears story in a very satisfying way:

SPOILER: show
what hooked me is the ending of xbc2. I liked 2 well enough. Combat was whatever. World was real cool. I liked the characters and the big ole anime tiddies were a huge plus. I enjoyed it. I didnt gush for it, but definitely enjoyed it.

When i got to the end i was blown away and slightly confused. It was a different game. i could tell it was, for the 1st time, calling back to xb1 but there was this other level that felt very familiar.

I went to Google, because the copies of xbc1 on the wii were outrageous, and read on the ending of xbc1. It was literally Klaus' story from xenogear continued. My mind was shattered. When xbc1 one dropped on the switch i played it and loved.

And xbc3 ties a bow on the whole xenosaga (see what i did there?) perfectly concluding this Klaus story in some really beautiful games.
