Fuck it, I’ll go through them all:

* Sports-like presentation went out with their first match. They were always going to be TNA-lite with their Casino Battle Royale shit. Straight from the mind of Vince Russo. You had Glacier in a match for a World Title shot. In 2019. This was a lie and this direction is a big part of what turned Cody Rhodes away in my opinion. And this philosophy is what is causing the problems in AEW now with The Elite.

* Wins and losses matter was a jab at WWE. That’s all. You have to make them matter. AEW can’t make meaning because Tony Khan is not a booker who understands how the things he does have an effect. He’s all about the what. The win-loss records were always a bad idea. They box you in. Now, not only do wins and losses not matter, it doesn’t matter if you’re a champion or not.

* The tag teams were always an overblown and overrated element to AEW. Their division has always sucked. Quantity does not equate to quality. The booking has been terrible. It does not mean more to The Acclaimed or Keith Lee & Swerve Strickland than it does to be The Usos or The New Day. Just more anti-WWE rhetorical people were willing to go with for a while.

* Tony Khan knows that bloating his roster is a bad idea. He did interviews where he bragged about not making the same mistakes as WCW. Yet here we are. He cannot help himself. Never mind AEW has always been making mistakes WCW made and they were just not aware. This could be Dave Meltzer’s influence and a focus on the IWC talking points.

* Yeah, that was bullshit. The contracts are as fucked as WWE. You are Tony Khan’s toy. In some ways, it could be worse than WWE because of Tony’s involvement. He seems to be part of the bullying sometimes.

* When you prop up insecure fucks like Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks, you are going to get the issues that AEW has developed. This was an inevitability. They were always going to bully and sabotage the moment someone threatened the status quo they had established with themselves at the head. Punk was the guy who called them out, but this clash of philosophies has been going on since day one.

* Wrestling fans don’t even have to know who the fuck Tony Khan is, yet he’s all over everything. It was a downright lie that he was too humble and too aware to stay away. He is the very definition of a money mark.
