Yeah, he was over.... but they also realized he wasn't actually that good and it was his "rep" and the "rep of ECW" that people were cheering... and that he could only ever be a B+ player in the big leagues, if that.

I don’t think that many people saw him in ECW. He had the rep with a certain segment of the audience, but RVD’s cool factor is what really got him, I think (even though he didn’t appeal to me personally).
