Here is the BIG secret AEW ignores. They have steadily decreased their fanbase. All the bluster about doing million dollar gates is a false equivalence to actually being more successful.
Look at Arther Ashe last year, they drew 5000+ more people. Just because they are price gouging their most loyal fans does not mean the business is growing.
Yes, the purpose is to make money, but AEW hypes the gate gross, but gross doesn't mean anything. Even with a higher gross and 5000 less fans, did they Net more than last year's Arthur Ashe? Did they Net anything?
How many new people have been added to the payroll since last year? AEW's payroll in 2022 is certainly higher than it was in 2021. Tiny said last Arthur Ashe was close to a million, how close? How much above that mark was this year's show?
