I think those comments on the segments are fair criticism. I also think in some ways it might be a function of them having more time than talent for a couple of years and now it feels like the opposite is true.
AEW were great at rotating talent in and out in the early days. You'd rarely ever see someone wrestle two Dynamites in a row, but with the size of the roster they were able to give pretty much everyone some shine in the 2 weeks. Now their roster has gotten to the point where they've clearly identified a handful of talents they want to feature every week, but the roster is so big now everyone else on the rotation is lucky to wrestle on TV once a month, if that.
Some of their pre-tapes are cool and all of that, guys like Miro, House of Black, Andrade etc have all done good work with that. But it does get to the point where it feels like just stalling for time before they get them back in a match.
6 hours of TV across 2 weeks should still be plenty of time to get everyone important a match.
