Onto Night 7!

B Block: Powerhouse Hobbs vs. Samoa Joe

We've got a certified HOSS FIGHT to kick us off as two big men who have had disappointing tournaments thus far look to take out their frustrations on one another and right the ship. This match would probably rule in real life and it didn't disappoint in the slightest in Fire Pro.

I'm sure the crowd wasn't expecting to see an epic right out of the gate, and this match was just packed with drama, neither man able to put the other down as the minutes ticked away. Joe kicked out of multiple Powerslams, frustrating Hobbs to no end. Joe locks in an STF and Hobbs refuses to tap as the bell sounds! A draw! Hobbs finally gets rid of the goose egg in the point column but not the way he wanted.

Winner: Draw
Time: 30:00
Rating: 95%

A Block: "The Murderhawk Monster" Lance Archer vs. Wheeler Yuta

Our opening contest saw two men desperately trying to keep their tournaments alive and that was only amplified in this one as Archer and Yuta come in with 0 points. Starting 0-3 makes a block win very unlikely, 0-4 makes it nearly impossible.

That desperation both men felt got parlayed into a classic, surprisingly becoming the best match of the tournament to date. Yuta tried his mightiest to wear Archer down with technical prowess, and proved himself to be a tough bastard by fighting out of the EDB Claw multiple times. But one last Final Days puts Yuta down for the count and gets Archer on the board.

Winner: Lance Archer
Time: 21:45
Rating: 99%

B Block: Scorpio Sky vs. "The Bastard" PAC

Suppose after two lengthy, tightly-contested bouts the crowd needed a reset with something completely different. Not much to say here, PAC wasn't fucking around tonight as he just runs roughshod over Sky and taps him out with the Brutalizer.

Winner: PAC
Time: 6:45
Rating: 62%

A Block: Chris Jericho vs. Rey Fenix

Nice happy medium from the last two matches - a nice, compact 10 minutes but they got a lot in and it worked well. Jericho controlled a lot of the early pacing and was a dickhead trying to pull off Fenix's mask before Fenix started to mound a fiery comeback. Jericho goes for the Judas Effect elbow, Fenix ducks, spins Jericho around and gets the Black Fire Driver for the win.

Winner: Rey Fenix
Time: 9:55
Rating: 89%

B Block: "The Natural" Dustin Rhodes vs. Malakai Black

A fairly straightforward, if sloppy, brawl between these two guys. The finishing sequence sees Dustin get his arms up with perfect timing as Malakai attempts to Black Mist him. This catches Malakai off guard as Dustin connects with the Final Reckoning for the win. Dustin season is back on!

Winner: Dustin Rhodes
Time: 8:34
Rating: 68%

A Block: "All Ego" Ethan Page vs. Kyle O'Reilly

I'm getting kinda lazy with commentary at this point since honestly I'm not sure what to say especially since I'm often recapping the results a day or two after I actually played the match. Anyway this match was what EWR would call "Perfectly Acceptable Wrestling", KOR puts Page down with the Northern Lights Suplex.

Winner: Kyle O'Reilly
Time: 9:51
Rating: 72%

B Block: CM Punk vs. Jay Lethal

Punk is looking to bounceback from arguably the biggest upset in the tournament following a submission defeat to Daniel Garcia. Instead he's running up against Jay Lethal who is on a 2-match win streak. After a good match, Punk goes for a GTS but Lethal slides off, waits for Punk to turn around. Superkick and a flash pin, the the World Champion has been knocked off twice in a row!

Winner: Jay Lethal
Time: 16:22
Rating: 85%

A Block: Andrade El Idolo vs. Swerve Strickland

Andrade entered this match as the only undefeated man in A Block through the first third of the tournament. But Swerve was determined to bring an end to that. Incredibly fast paced bout between these two, the crowd was biting on some of the high spots that happened at a frenetic pace.

Andrade throws Swerve off the top and hits a Frog Splash for a narrow two count. Andrade is beside himself and arguing with the official for a while. Doesn't realize Swerve got back up behind him, Complete Shot and just like that Swerve has pulled himself to the top of the leaderboard himself.

Winner: Swerve Strickland
Time: 11:55
Rating: 85%

B Block: "Red Death" Daniel Garcia vs. "The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson

Garcia is given tonight's B Block finale following his upset over the World Champion, and he goes from facing one of the greatest technical competitos of all time in the currently undefeated Danielson. Unsurprisingly, these two put on a technical clinic and just torture each other with kicks and holds for days.

The fight briefly spills out to the floor as the referee attempts to regain order. Danielson charges Garcia for a Busaiku Knee but Garcia ducks, sending Danielson knee first into the ring post. Garcia slides Danielson back in and locks in the same Bridging Sharpshooter he used to put away Punk. Danielson taps! Bah gawd Garcia has knocked off two legends in a row!

Winner: Daniel Garcia
Time: 16:55
Rating: 90%

A Block: MJF vs. Darby Allin

Our main event of the evening sees the other two homegrown "pillars" of AEW in MJF and Darby go at it. These two have no shortage of history with one another, with MJF getting the better of Darby in a 22 minute affair back at Full Gear last year.

This match took half that amount of time but they kept the crowd engaged throughout. Darby is one of the most popular wrestlers in the company and MJF is a heat magnet, so it's a naturally nice pairing. MJF removes the turnbuckle pad to cheat, Darby thwarts it and sends MJF face first into the exposed steel! MJF is busted open. Darby quickly hops up top and lands right on MJF's face with a Coffin Drop! The referee calls for the bell as a bloodied MJF is in no condition to continue. Darby moves into a 3-way tie for 1st.

Winner: Darby Allin
Time: 11:05
Rating: 91%
