Television nerds definitely talk about how shows work. In a wrestling context, ratings have just been center of that discussion for so long due to Meltzer and the reporting on the Monday Night Wars. Wrestling fans are the only ones who seem to not understand that they don’t work as power levels. But again, that’s probably down to Meltzer.

Wrestling being a live form of entertainment fuels the discussion too. The goal is to draw crowds. Therefore people are going to talk about the crowds.
