There's no actual need for two World champions. The main reason they ever did it was for periods of time where they actually kept Raw and SmackDown completely separate including their own house shows and PPVs. But those days have been over for a while. Even when they still had split brand house shows, Lesnar was never defending the title on the Raw shows. So one World title is fine, but WWE can't help but default to excess so expect them to be split again soon enough.

I wouldn’t put too much stock in the website, they had Cesaro still listed on SmackDown until a few days ago.
And yeah, one champ over both shows works for me. There’s a few storyline things you can run with that. I’ve always liked the idea of a Lesnar or Roman being like this omnipotent Shao Khan type deal, like an overload watching all the mortals fight it out amongst themselves just for a shot at them. They come down from their “mountain” to put the mortal back in their place and remind the other mortals who they are.
